LA FERIA — A 21-year-old Raymondville woman died and five other Raymondville residents were injured Friday night after the vehicle they were in rolled over on a street north of La Feria, a state police dispatcher said Saturday.
The 21-year-old, Stephanie Gonzales, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on FM 2556 north of Tio Cano Road when the 2000 Jeep Wrangler rolled over at approximately 8 p.m. Friday, a Department of Public Safety dispatcher said.
DPS spokesman Trooper Johnny Hernandez on Saturday confirmed the name of the deceased woman as Stephanie Gonzales.
The family of six, from Raymondville, included Noelia Gaona, 36, Oscar Gonzales, 38, Gloria Gonzales, 42, Valerie Gonzales, 15, and a 5-year-old girl, said DPS dispatcher Irma Diaz.
Gaona, Valerie Gonzales and the 5-year-old girl were transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Diaz said.
Gaona remained in critical condition at Valley Baptist Saturday evening, VBMC spokesman Michael Swartz said.
Valerie Gonzales and the 5-year-old girl were treated at the hospital and released Saturday, Swartz said.
Gloria Gonzalez was transported to McAllen Medical Center, Diaz said. A spokesperson for McAllen Medical could not be reached for comment Saturday.
The DPS dispatcher said Oscar Gonzalez was transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center, but Swartz said Saturday that there were no records of a patient by that name at VBMC.
The cause of the rollover was not available through reports as of Saturday, Diaz said.
