the governor and the senate,assembly are complete idiots! there is no water to put into any new lakes stupid. I'll be voting no in November on this insane bill. I urge everyone to also.

Removing dams is just as nuts as building new ones. We get green power from dams. Our current reservoirs are hardly filled. Why do we need more?
Instead, the Jarvis taxpayers group should get a desalination petition going. Spending 11 billion in borrowed money for the same failed system is more than stupid. It's criminal. Follow the money trail. Then you'll find the pigs who will get rich off this boondoggle. |

Precisely the reason to vote for it. The idea behind it is to be able to STORE water when we do have high rainfall years to be able to SURVIVE when we do not have enough rainfall. I urge everyone to vote for it.

I urge everyone to vote no on it. As long as the north is paying to give its water cheaply to the south they will continue to squander and waste it on such places as there golf courses, lawns and car washes. While our fish, land and wild life dry up. Where are the dry waste systems as there are coming of age in France? Desalinization is being completely over looked and ignored, intentionally by fat pigs looking to get richer more quicly. Water companies people are being way overpaid with wages and benefits even with comparison to civil services.

AP Enterprise: Earmarks fill Calif. water bond
In the final days of negotiations, lawmakers in both chambers padded the bond bill with an additional $1.7 billion, despite previous statements by legislative leaders that the state could not afford such a large bond. Several lawmakers from both parties said the earmarks were added to gain sufficient votes to pass the most comprehensive water package to come out the Legislature in decades. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger had described the bond as a wise investment for the state's future and is expected to sign it next week. But a handful of Republicans and Democrats criticized the pork barrel projects, saying they pushed the bond's price tag too high while the state is grappling with budget shortfalls and high unemployment. Every $1 billion borrowed at a 6 percent interest rate by the state costs $72.6 million in interest over the 30-year life of the bond, according to the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst's Office. "All the parties involved should have said we're in the worst economic crisis in 75 years and we ought to be careful about how we spend our money and not load it up with huge gifts spread out around California in exchange for votes," said Assemblyman Ted Gaines, R-Granite Bay, who voted against the bond. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2009/nov/0... |

We don't "store" water. We release it to Farmer's, to grow crops, they sell somewhere else. In other words, we export a limited resource. Pretty dumb idea.

We don't have the money? This is just more borrowing. We can't pay our debts as it is now, how are we going to pay for this?
Schwarzenegger has taken every problem we have and made it worse. |
||||
Of course we store water....it comes down from rain and snow melt in the winter and spring.....gets stored behind Shasta, Oroville, Folsom,etc. dams, and then is released to farmers during the growing season.....That is what the dams and canals were built for. |
||||
shhhh the kids will hear! We do not want them to worry about having to pay for our life style, do ya? |
||||
NO They regulate it. That gets top dollar. |
