Apparently. If you didn't, you'd end your addiction to following me around and engaging in unprovoked insults on every thread.

The subject is Constellium, right? You are saying that at Constellium, the hourly employees are making more than what they do. So far, it sounds like I'm on topic. All I did was refute your math and correct the numbers for you. Now you can say thank you for informing you that you don't have a clue as to what k are tatlking about.
So for the union people on here what is the average salary before OT and what is the starting wage? Also, the company has been very open about what the offer they have on the table. It is clear what the value is, heck I can do the math and am not an accountant. But what does "modest" wage increase mean when the union spokesperson talks to the media?

Readily available information on the company website! At some point in life, you need to be resourceful to succeed.

Sure you do! I believe you. Not. Anyway, it's easy to say all that hiding behind your PC, huh? It would be another thing entirely to show up where we are picketing and say it. We'd soon discover who the "real men" are in this county and it sure as hell ain't the boys in the basements ... louda, gayru, bacon boy, pisscho, etc.
it sure ain't a bunch of cowards like the union

I am resourceful, finding information is what I do for a living. That is my point. Nowhere is there information regarding what the union regards as a "modest" wage increase and the base salary of $42,500 has created an outcry from union supporters. If on company website, where does it show base average and starting annual without OT?

What are the "modest" wage increases the union is asking for? I hear 4%. That's not so modest but also just hearsay. The company seems to be pretty transparent with what they are offering but have not seen the same from the union. Why is that? Embarrassed to admit their greed? Just wondering?

Give it up, Dick. We WON'T be seeing you anytime soon - fact. Pansy-asses sit on their PC and bad mouth union members when the truth is you'd give your left one for a job like ours. So, F off and find another cause!

He probably would give his left one for a job like yours. Too bad you wouldn't do the same for your own job.

I'm not even going to bother reading all of these posts, because I know it is filled with hatred. I watched the hell that my dad was put through when he walked that picket line for 20 months during the LOCKOUT...I watched him cry when I gave him a book written about the lockout and it broke my heart...Unless you are a union member or a part of their family, you have no idea the emotional turmoil these guys are going through. It's not just about pay raises, or insurance, or retirement. It is about standing up to these corporate greed mongers, who do not give a damn about those who are really making their company money. Do you think any of those guys walking around in their fancy suits and driving their Mercedes are able to get on that overhead crane and run it effectively without killing someone? Do you think they know how to fix that all mighty stretcher if something goes wrong? Hell no, they know how to squeeze every penny out of every works ass, union shop or not. These guys are standing up to stop the greed, no only for themselves, but for every working person. Thank a union member that you only have a 40 hour work week, vacation, age and disability discrimination laws, social security...the list goes on and on. Do you really think if no one stood up and said NO that you would keep these things you take for granted? I don't know the ins and outs of this contract, because thankfully my dad is retired, but I can tell you this, I know that it had to be a pretty bad offer for the amount of guys to vote strike that did. You guys do have support from the community guys. I haven't driven by yet, but when I do, you'll hear my horn blaring.

Hey buddy...your story is heartwrenching and I understand. My family went through this on the salary and union side. We saw it all. Jackrocks, phone calls, spying on my home and I had nothing to do with that stupid plant. My father in law had to call the union hall and have my name and my dads name took off their "who is a scab list". I never even ever worked at the plant and my dad was retired. How do you think the rest of us feel in this world? We are not making that type of money and our insurance has all gone up if we even have insurance. Plant worker have always thought they were a little better than everyone else and no one else can have any work skills that match their. How about the man that drives the trash truck? A very large vehicle capible of causing great damage and bodily injury if let out of control. I remember when there was 2 or 3 guys working 1 of these trucks but now all I see is one poor old guy just gettin er all day by himself. It is hard for us to believe that a man making the kind of money and benefit these guys are making can feel cheated. Tell them to find another job in Jackson County and see how they feel when that pissy little paycheck comes rolling in.

Bologna! Didn't you just say your family was on both sides of the Lockout? Which side felt "better than" the other? Nonsense.

The trash man deserves health insurance AND to be FAIRLY compensated for the work he does. If he feels "shat upon," he might try organizing a UNION!

Absolultely BRILLIANT! I feel your "pain" and that of your father's. It was gut-wrenching watching m own father (and grandfather) lose nearly everything they had worked for and for decades! I thank GOD for the USWA and all the help/support they gave my family during the Lockout. Without union respresentation, they would have been left destitute while untouchable Marc Rich drove his Mercedes RIGHT OUT OF THE COUNTRY! Bastard.

I too support 5668 and their efforts. People are just too stupid to realize that unions fighting for the Middle Class man/woman impact THEIR jobs as well. Let's drive by the picket line together and blow the HELL out of our horns. Better yet, let's drive by and drop off supplies! This weekend?

Sure, let's all go and encourage people to give up a sure job with better benefits than anyone in the county when over 20% of the people in the United States are not working and almost 10% are begging for jobs with half of what they offered. Thank God that there are companies out there that will take money from you to join their mafia and pay them a membership fee to help you give up your job while people are practically lined up outside waiting to replace you. Nevermind that you still owe the mafia money even if you aren't working. Who's with me??? LOL

And nobody gives a crap about a criminal that has been pardoned and left the country years ago. Also, there was a union during his time in our area. He still got away with it. He drove right passed your mafia in his Mercedes on his way out.

i saw the vote numbers. dont try to put the blame anywhere else. you voted against your paychecks. lets see how long you can last. 20 men who voted for the contract, well .... they will keep theirs most likely.

The thing about the vote numbers is that it was from the first offer on July 25/26, not the final offer made by the company.....that offer wasn't brought to the members. Using the original offer numbers is misleading on how much members are supporting this strike....

I hope he don't! We need the trash picked up! Not seeing it piled up cause they are on strike. Because they are expected to work for their money. If they went union they would strike because they get dirty or were expected to pick up trash. You know what they were HIRED to do.
