I think while well intended Kelli Jo (the pink haired lady as she calls herself) was thoughtless in her comments this week. While laughter and jokes are nice where was the thanks for the hard work the electric companies are doing? I usually find her columns to funny or entertaining and sometimes touching but this one was left a bitter taste in my mouth. I think an apology is due to all the electric people who were out there working in the heat as fast as they could. Thanks to all the hard work you did AEP and Mon Power!! WTG! Keep up the good work!!

The comments were just that..nothing. Now a little work like a trip should have been taken to visit the people that suffered the hardship of no power no air conditioner no water. Just goes to show you that person should have gone out in the rual areas and see the facts of both sides. How people suffered without power and how hard the AEP men risked their lives to restore power.Get the facts and print the truth and if you do not have anything nice to say during the State Wide hardship try to thank the AEP men and incourage the ones that were without. I find the columns tasteless and empty. Killroy was here,

Yes I do agree. I know a lot of people where truly in a hard spot with no electric. Some who lost whole houses and others their roofs. I am a lucky one who didn't loose anything but electric for a couple of days. I got hot, real hot but as I sat there sweating it out I thanked God above I didn't loose anything! Older people in the heat. Loss of food and some left with no water either. If you in the country and have a well your well runs with electric too. I commend the electric companies, the fire departments, volunteers, Tom Pedens etc who helped instead of complaining they found a way to help.

I picked up the check for a power crew eating lunch at bob evans. They said they were on a 12 hour shift after an 8-hr turnaround and their bucket truck broke down way back some hollow and they were stuck in the heat for hours. Those guys are paid well, and I bet a little OT is nice. But every single crewman would've given every nickel back if they could've avoided that storm damage altogether.

these right of ways have been neglected because power presidents have cut subcontracts out so they can get up to 6 mil in bonuses. bet his family isnt losing power. ask any of men or women that came to our state and they will tell u what they think of rtw
