That was a cheap shot. Having been a career government worker I see the need for taxes. You see what Proposition 13 did to California. We just have to figure out how much to tax and then where to spend that much money. Do we want to do anything for ourselves or do we want the government to do everything. If we are not capable of taking care of our own matters, then we definitely need the government to do it for us, and since we are incapable, naturally we need the people that are able to take care of themselves to take care of us also. Of course there will come a point where there will be no real need to try to be successful, someone else will be entitled to the fruits of your labor, we can go to a 60 year old retirement system and live like Spain and Greece. I remember when Red Necks were looked at as self reliant people! Old Merle would be rolling in his grave.

I assume you meant 6:45 p.m., but your comment raises several questions:
- What is the population of your hamlet, counting the coon dogs?
- Are poll workers paid? If so, y'all are getting ripped off.
- Did your candidate or your neighbor's candidate win?
Ya I meant PM. part of being old ! Our township has about 500 people and maybe 125 who are registered to vote. The poll workers recieve $75 each. We have a polling place in every township and that s what the citizens want.the GOBs in town who run the election comission wanted to consolidate the polling places to just one at the county seat. However our justices told them they will gladly pay for the extra cost to keep things the way they are. And that is good because their isnt long lines or a long drive. They dont want to discourage anyone from voting. Also we have a constable position in every township and combining township,s could cause confusion. My wife voted earlier than I did. She voted for cantidate X and later I voted for cantidate Y. LOL! I have no idea who won. Neither one has held elected office before. It was impossible to decide wich one would be the lesser evil?

Felons, inmates, illegal aliens and dead people vote all the time. Some people are voting multiple times. Do not let the law get in your way.

A. Because, George W. Bush won the primary?
B. Because, The SCOTUS DOES NOT APPOINT,
"convicted dead mexican illegal'S"
president.
My guess would be, A

If you don't vote, then you obviously are happy with the end result, because you didn't exercise your constitutional right. If you don't vote, you have no right to gripe. Notice, I didn't say you couldn't gripe, I said you don't have the right to gripe, because you didn't try to change things. Every registered voter should vote. Yes, I did! Have a nice day.

So, are you saying, that only those who vote are covered by the the first amendment of the Bill Of Rights?

The first amendment to the Bill of Rights says: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. This says nothing of your rights as a non voter or someone elses rights as a voter. "Wow" was just pointing out that if you don't care enough to vote then, out of respect for others who do care enough to take the time to vote, you shouldn't jump in any discussion dealing with the consequences of the outcome of the election. You do have the right as a citizen of this country to engage yourself in a political discussion though you will have no credebility in anything you say because you didn't have any "skin in the game" by casting your vote. Either vote or stay out of political discussions and get that chip off of your shoulder.

'Reality check' hit the nail on the head. Were you home schooled or did you just miss the section of the civics class that taught this? Now everyone who reads this, provided they can comprehend it, can see what is happening to our education system and the political system because of it.
