GM's Power Plant closure in Massena NY is of no surprise to me. I lived in the North Country for 22 years until 2003 when i went south. There is no Infrastructure in place. No Interstate at all,no railroad or airport to speak of. Massena's GM Plant's location requires too much in cost of transporting goods manufactured there to other GM Final Assembly Points. Cheap power is what brought GM to Massena but this is more than offset by transportation expense
