I was born and raised in Springer (1941 to 1955), and in my teens my family moved to Cimarron. Many know me as "Frankie" or Frank Serna.
For some 40 years I have been very involved with the history of Cimarron - Springer - Raton and northern NM in general and over the years I have written several books on people, places, and events of Colfax County. My most recent book is titled, "A History of the Spanish People of Northern New Mexico, and Why They Live Where They Live." The book got a great review by The Taos News and the Raton Range in May - June. Since then, many people have ordered the book from me directly. The book is also available at the Raton Chamber of Commerce, the Brown Hotel, The Cimarron Art Gallery, the St. James Hotel, the Philmont Museum, and several book outlets in Taos.
I want to thank the people of Northern New Mexico for the great response I have had on the book. The book was about you and your families and the towns and villages you live in...
