Stolen Car Dealership Busted

We had a man who bought one of these and was driving to the beach and got stopped in south Alabama and went to jail for driving a stolen car Chilton County sheriff's investigators are looking into what may well be one of the largest stolen cars sales rings in the state's history. via WIAT-TV Birmingham

I purchased a used car from Gene Martin for almost $7000 to only find out after putting in a new engine and other repairs for $2500 that my car had been salvaged. I have a pending complaint with the Attorney General's office for violation of the Consumer Protection Act and Deliberate Fraud! I hope justice is served for me as well as everyone else he scammed.

well blame yourself for that genius,cant you read the signs gene martin auto sales and salvage,all you had to do was open the door and look it says salvage, buy the way its not a new car, its not guranteed like anew one,daaaa.

looks like you are the dumb ass he wasant aressed for stealing carsand besides that there was only two cars on the whole lot that were stolen, when you deal in used cars and a salvage yard you are bound to get a stolen one oncew in a while goofy.

I used to work there and believe it or not, a lot went on that shouldn't have and a lot of what the papers say is actaully true (I said a lot not all). He was arrested for good reason, maybe not the way it should have been done, but still needed. Yes, I do personally know him and his family, and those that are trying to keep it all together. Just like anyone else who makes a mistake, we will all pay in the end. However, some of us don't learn from our mistakes, like Gene. He has been through the fire enough to know better. Maybe if he gets out this time things will be different. Oh, by the way, he is still being held without bond...it was denied...

Did you ever walk past his desk to go into another office only to see him about to snort a line of coke. There was more than a couple of cars that were stolen. He knew that he was a felon so why did he have guns? I don't want to see anyone sit in jail but some people never learn.

Never saw him do the coke, but had it on my desk when I came in for work the next day. Even been offered a line, picked up a few bottles of pills here and there. Oh, I even got to clean out his office a time or two when we got word of a raid. Seen many cars get stripped and crushed, watched many customers get shafted because of crookedness, Even seen a few payoffs here and there...some will never learn, and still there are some who refuse to believe.

Though not a friend (or an enemy) I have known Gene since about 1966 or 1967 . I used to ride the school bus he rode on soooooooooooo many years ago . Gene has a knack for making money and has made much both legally and illegally as he would tell . He did, afterall, serve time in prison for his knack for making money illegally.
Gene has done well for himself and contributes to his brother Dannys well being . They are friends . I have had a few dealings with his (legal) businesses and have always been treated with respect by Gene . The man is a genius in business and to MY knowledge has no degree in that feild . I do know weather he is guilty of all(or any) charges , perhaps he is , I hope not . He is, otherwise, a decent individual .
