Walnut will be off the list shortly, Ed Roski Jr.

It is a trully nice town, a rural town in the LA suburb area, very green, hilly, and quiet.
The schools are also very good. |
Not after the stadium comes to town
Yeah, don't screw it up with an NFL stadium Walnut City Council. Keep the Industry strip clubs and XXX video stores away from here.
What's the latest on the stadium? We were in the market to buy a house and stopped looking in Walnut after we heard of the stadium possibility. We bought in La Verne because we knew the city of Walnut would go downhill if the stadium is built. What a shame! It has such a great school district!
You bought in LA Verne but you are in WA??? |
My ISP shows as WA :) Trust me; I'm in La Verne--and feeling all the heat that comes with living here! |
I live in Walnut. It is a nice city except not much racial diversity. Is all Asian. It would be a better city with less Asians and more of other races.
I hope the new stadium get some of the Asians to leave. vito |
Who cares about the school district. You went to La Verne because the housing is cheaper. You will regret it when it comes time to sell. Vito |
Walnut is a nice community but I would like to see the City be more proactive in graffiti removal on Valley Blvd.. I have seen the same graffiti on street/traffic signs for months within Walnut.
Then it would be a dump like Pomona! |
For Ed Roski Jr. to make such a comment,...it is really unthinkable that he has such disrespect for the residents of walnut... |
I too was looking to buy in Walnut, the whole stadium thing was the icing on the cake. I too ended up in La Verne, it's "small town USA" where I am and I couldn't be happier, It's something that Walnut has and is slowly losing, it's unfortunate. |
How many of you that are agaist the stadium because you think it will bring down property values? Well, why don't you go outside and take a look at your front yards. I see so many signs that are against the stadium that sit on top of burned out grass, out of control plants, yards that have been totally neglected for along time. Why don't you start to improve Walnut by cleaning up your own front yards. Then if you have enough time, go to a highschool football game. You just never know, you might like it.
It doesn't matter if you are for or against the stadium. For Ed Roski Jr. to make such a comment, it is really showing his true nature on his disrespect for walnut residents. |
It's just how it turns out, nobody want them to leave except you. They contribute so much in terms of test scores and tax dollars, so live with it. |
I know. I bought my Walnut house 22 years ago for @200,000 and now the asians want to give me $800,000 for it. What fools. If I had that kind of money, I would live in Beverly Hills or Newport Beach. Yes, I will live with it. All the way to the bank. Vito |
You chose a far better place to live by choosing La Verne over Walnut. The culture is far more diverse and not so Asian orinted. Too much of any one race can be a bad thing. |
True Walnut is a nice town and yes it is mostly Asians, but there are white, black and hispanic families that can afford to live there or bought their home years ago when Walnut built homes in the early to late 70's. Nice property there, the only downside is it boarders West Covina by Nogales and it borders Pomona on Valley. I never did understand why people with homes in Walnut are zoned and must attend Nogales HS. I hope Walnut remains nice and it should because they are all home owners and they are not renting it out, they are living there. When Walnut starts renting their homes out is when you will see that city change to what is going on in West Covina. West Covina was nice to the northside of Nogales adjacent to Walnut, but they started renting their homes out and now that side is becoming ugly looking.
Actually, you're wrong there. The property values overall have been less impacted by the recession than in most other SGV cities... including Walnut. |
