Bernice, you need a mental health check. Raging Grannies are you Obama supporters? Every notice now that Obama is president we don't hear the daily fatalities of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars in the news?

In photo, Herb Foster waves the trite bumper sticker slogan "War is not healthy for children and other living things." Of course the same can be said about being conquered by genocidal enemies, so why was Bernice Belton protesting her brother's death in World War II? He was a hero, preserving our freedoms from the threat of Hitler and Tojo. And Fidel Castro cheerleader Ruth Hunter being there "to lend a voice to the public who don't speak for themselves." Please don't presume to speak for me. Being old adds little dignity to being a lefty, and the Raging Grannies are only free to protest due to the sacrifice of young people in uniform, past and present.

Wow! Some of Mike Rotkin's original gang of two hundred are really getting up there in years!

It looks like they're branching out, too. Economically-challenged Santa Cruz and Peace(?) Park have been abandoned
for economically-advantaged Capitola. Maybe they want to make Capitola weird too.

But be thankful folks. Were they not busy protesting U.S. Imperialism, they might all be preparing for Nude Hiking Day tomorrow. Me thinks the shock would be too grat for the masses to handle.

My WW1 vet grandfather told me these type of protesters were disrespectful to the country and to the boys that died fighting for freedom.

My WW2 vet uncle, who served in the North Atlantic then Pacific Theater, told me these type of protesters made him sick to his stomach. He hated them, because they mocked his and those that died efforts to keep this country secure and allow it to remain the best that there is.

My Great Grandfather, who served in His Majesty's Royal Army during the Boer War, in the medical corps, immigrated to America before both WW1 and WW2. In his aged days, he told me that war was sometimes necessary to keep his beloved America secure, and the best country that there was (although he missed Northern England). When Hitler bombed out his former London home, he wished he could have taken arms to make sure it didn't happen here.

War is terrible but the alternative is sometimes even more terrible than war.

What would the Raging Grannies have done during WWII? Stood by and watched the Germans and Russians take over Europe? Allow the Japanese to take over the Pacific?

Raging Grannies should get out the vote to impeach President Obama as he coampaigned to immediately end the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars! Obama lied and people are still dying! Obama lied and People died! At least the Raging Grannies should encourage a draft and lottery to assure all folks have an equal opportunity to serve in the millitary! How about it Grannies? What do peace people such as the Raging Grannies think about the events in Iran?

People should just go home and be quiet, and let their government continue to oppress them?

It's a shame that any group would try to hijack Fathers Day or any other celebration and try to twist it to suite their own agenda.

I wonder of some of the same protesters would otherwise attend a feminist rally where fathers were deemed to be unnecessary?

"We need to stop manufacturing problems and turning them into reasons for war," Belton said. "That's why we do this." Well just tell that to the millions of 30 something Iranians this week-end...do you not think that some things...such as FREEDOM are worth fighting and dying for...the Iranians apparently do...who is this Belton person?...lots of years and no sense!

This is funny.
I have checked with the military recruiters and they werent given the opportunity to peak about this.

Maybe if someone stopped to chat with them they might have something to say.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
