If other South Bay communities like Torrance can't restrict development because of onerous fair housing laws by the state and the feds, why should RPV get a pass? Let RPV get built out like the rest of the South Bay. Trump isn't building low income housing but if other communities have to build low income housing so should RPV.

RPV isn't being unfair. It's called following rules and he's just not use to dealing with "rules." He may have money, but PV is full of people with money so they look at him the same way they see everyone.
And RPV build low income housing? No way, will never happen. People pay more to live in PV to get away from low income areas.

You go Don. Throw the RPV (except Wolowitz) bums out of office and get some more rational heads like Wolowitz in there. You did it in Palm Beach and Westchester County. Time to bring a little East Coast justice to these sun baked brainiacs.

"The Donald"...What a clown. If you go to Webster's Dictionary and look up the word "JERK", you would find a photo of Trump's face next to it. I would give up golf before I would ever play his course. We should change the name from "Trump" to Dump National Golf Club. Send this idiot back to New York... RPV is not big enough to hold his ego

You are kidding me, right? I have lived here all my life and that area is unstable. How many times have we had to deal with construction in the area to repair the road? Also, is it wrong that we respect the land here and want it to STAY nice? Terrenea did A LOT of testing to and was able to preserve the area and wildlife. Trump is just used to everybody doing what he wants and is frustrated that a CITY like RPV is standing up for what is right and fair to EVERYONE, not just him. He may own the golf course, but he bought it knowing the rules and now he chooses not to follow them. I know you have done some good things in RPV, but you have done some very bad things too. Sueing a school district? Sueing a city that makes you accountable for your actions? Shame on you, Mr Trump!

The comb over clown Donny is just trying to get some money out of the city. He knew of the rules and regulations before he jumped in. How much does he charge golfer's to play that dump of a course that you see nobody on again? Sounds like he's losing money to me, try lowering your prices Donny you might start to see business pick up.

YES! im glad donald is showing them how to do it, cut through the red tape, cut through the bureacracy, cut through the BS. THERE IS NO INSTABILITY. the courts have already passed, combed over, and gone over all of the inspections and geological crap twice over. but rpv wants to throw up more red tape, more bureacracy. but you dont do that with a billionaire from new york. believe me, new york knows how to throw red tape, and the donald knows how to push the money and cards across the table and say "ALL IN"

and in the end, the city will back down, because he has too many chips on his side. so rpv, cut bull and red tape, and allow the only money to come into your area, during a down economy, work through the city and build build build.

RE: Comment #4 by "Aqua Velva"

Fortunately we still live in a democracy, so clowns like Trump CAN'T just "throw the bums out of office." In fact, since he doesn't even live in RPV, and therefore can't vote in RPV elections, he's got less say in that matter than I do.

It really is ironic that this bogus lawsuit arises out of development of a golf course. Golf is a game of honor, with no umpires or referees to penalize violations of the rules. If a rule is broken, it is up to the individual to do the right thing and penalize himself, or alternatively to simply overlook it. What do you bet Trump cheats on the golf course too?

"CUT RED TAPE" (Comment #7):

"THERE IS NO INSTABILITY."

Uh huh. And I'm sure that's what the previous owner of Ocean Trails thought before the 18th fairway fell into the ocean.

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that if Trump is able to build the houses he wants, and the land does later turn out to be unstable, he'll be back in court alleging that the city should have warned him of the danger. And he'll want a lot more than $100M to cover his losses.

that argument has already passed. inspections done. geological surveys, done. the courts looking over those surveys and inspections, done. the city receving those same said reports and inspections, done. i guess all thats left is more red tape and bureacracy.

Trump makes a percentage of his fortune by suing.

Good luck RPV, you're first mistake was letting him in the door.

I have lived in the South Bay area for 56 years and have been around P.V. many times. There is unstable soil to the west of Trumps place, however he has ruined the area with his ideas of what nature intended.
What part of over watering this type of soil doesn’t he get? I believe this soil will become unstable in time. I guess it’s called the trickle down effect.

The whole area is zoned "open area hazard" by RPV.

This zoning does not allow golf course or golf driving ranges. This should have never taken place without changing the zoning.

And after all that, it was Trump himself who decided to build a driving range instead of homes. Probably an excellent decision, given the risks.

If he wants to sue to recover the $3m he claims he spent on "superfluous" geological studies, fine. Whatever. Given the State Supreme Court's refusal to review the latest rulings, that suit might even have some merit.

But $100m? For what?? The difference between what the land is worth as a driving range and what it would have been worth had he gone ahead and built houses on it? Screw that. That's money that should be going to local schools, libraries, infrastructure, and a million other things that make living in RPV great.

Now that the courts have had their say, go ahead and build the damn houses, as long as you're willing to deal with the lawsuits that arise in 10 years when they've all got more cracks in the walls than right angles in the doorways.

It's pretty obvious to anyone who doesn't share his agenda that Trump is simply trying (once again) to use the courts to line his own pockets at the expense of local residents.
