Republicans fault Assembly endorsement by Teachers Association ...

The Republican Party may not be the third wheel in the 54th Assembly District race - that designation generally goes to, of course, third parties, but the local GOP does feel snubbed by the Teachers Association ...

The process which TALB used to determine it's endorsement of a candidate for the 54th Assembly Districe is merely one more example of TALB not serving the interests of it's own members. How arrogant to interview only the candidates who are members of the Democratic Party. Was the decision to endorse Uranga actually made before interviewing any other candidates? The teachers themselves should be outraged at such an undemocratic process, and the closed mindedness which brought it about. Day states,"We interview all viable candidates." Is that a statement which shows he simply doesn't understand the language he is using? Or does it mean he is simply lying to all of us? Either way, he shows himself to be unqualified for the job he holds. Surely the teachers deserve better representation. They should be demanding it.

UNTIL we get mandatory politician free, redistricting of all Kalifornia the demo-crap dictatorship will continue to run roughshod over all people!

Only latte sipper libs will be re elected into perpetuity! If you ever become an incumbent you have a job for life! Because of liberal gerrymandering, unelecting clueless air-heads is impossible, and citizens are deprived of alternative ideas and solutions to ALL statewide problems.

If you wanna see what a demo-rat congress and presidency will do, look no farther than the our own dysfunctional legislature dictatorship demo-craps! Thanks once again with you arrogant boobs on the job we are guaranteed chaos and leaderless riffraff governing (or claiming to speak for the majority). Democracy? Hardly in any way shape or form!

In other words, talb is too lazy to look for other candidates or is too stupid to know how to find them. it never occured to them that a republican might be in the race? What about someone from the many 3rd parties? Either talb is led by idiots or talb believes we are idiots, if they think we'll buy that.

and these people teach our kids. heaven help us.
----------

from the article:"'We interview all viable candidates," Day said. "Their names did not come to our attention.'

He said if TALB had known about the other candidates, they would have been invited to the interview..."

I am confused. The Republican party makes no bones about where it stands on budgetary matters, CUT, Cut, cut ! Why would any sane organization that supports education, or for that matter any group of people that is not in the top 2 percent of of the rich support a Republican candidate?

Thank you all for the great responses so far. TO answer Jim's question about where we stand on budget matters, the Republican Party needs to get back to it's three core values: Lower Taxes & Spending, National Defense / Lower Crime, and Family Values. You are correct that we need to make our voices stronger about cutting wasteful government spending and hold everyone, including the Republicans who strayed from these principles, accountable.
Look at John McCain: He "opposed" the Bush tax cut bill because it DID NOT include a cut in government spending as well. His budgets WILL include both tax cuts AND spending cuts! This is what we need to stand for!
Thanks again, and I hope you all get involved!

TALB members need to look to the best candidate that can help take education to a higher level in this district. MY vote goes to John Kling. He can revitalize this district by improving the educational support that the school system in this district so very much needs without being bought off by special interests. There are to many career politicians concerned about their political future rather than the will of the people.
