You know that there are accual documentries on Betty . You could probably google her and find some thing . I have saw her on the discovery channel oddly enough . She has had a tough life and is not as bad as she makes herself look .

actually she is refered to as red betty, because she is always wearing red. Her first name is Betty. I have seen a write up in the Ramona paper about her. She's alright if she takes her meds.

Dude I heard she was raped and then almost died or something. I also heard she watched her son die. I'm not sure, they're just rumors...but I believe it, seeing how messed up she is. She yells at stop signs and my friend saw her and some guy behind the Turkey...you know.

Yes her name is Betty. Betty Bass to be exact. She was the victim of a homicidal rapist that preyed on the prostitutes of El Cajon Blvd in San Diego. She was raped and left for dead in a river bed. She is the only known survivor of the rapist. Generally she is ok, but when off her meds she can be quite an ordeal.

I do not know Black/Red Betty's real name, but I do believe her name is Betty, perhaps derived from the variations of Elizabeth.
Betty used to drve a very expensive Volvo, was a successful business woman, who dressed to the 9s, was well spoken and seemingly educated!
She had made a lot of money and her choice in clothing were expensive furs, lovely and elegant, very high class, until she accepted a business partner (male, unknown name), who tore that business apart and the monies were gone. Likewise Betty had a breakdown, so she became what she is today:
On meds, messed up and a hooker.

Black betty talks to herself. Very foreboding character.

She is a she! Not a transvestite or transsexual. Betty is an amazing lady. She will walk around and talk to herself, but if you say something to her, she will become totally lucid and have a normal conversation with you. If you had lived through what she's lived through, you would probably be just like her.

I've talked to Betty and saw her documentary. I too would be unstable if I saw my child being brutally murdered. I would become a drunk and a drug user to escape the hurt and pain. Then would have to trun to prostitution just to support my drug use, cause an altered state is better than reality. Surviving that alons is hard enough, then to survive a rape and left for dead!? She's pretty amazing. All you people, who are too afraid to talk to her, you should. The comment from Country Gril is true. Everyone "claims" to have seen her documentary and to know all the detials however no one can give any evidence to support their statements.

I doubt there is anything special about her. She's just some crazy old lady, who let the California heat get to her. Just be nice and keep a fair distance from her if you can. She isn't exactly stable.

Roadprincess, you're kind of an idiot. You do know that the Hillside Strangler murders happened in Los Angeles county, right? If you take the time to research things before you open your mouth (so to speak), you won't seem like such a moron. Next, someone's going to go off and say that Charles Manson is a serial killer.

Yes Betty's story was on a discovery channel show, and at one point they tried to link it to the hillside strangler, but I don't think they ever made any connection. According to testimony she did watch the death of at least one of her children ( I don't know haw many she had) prior to a sexual assault, but information is scarce, and I don't think she really wants to talk about it... But apparently she believes that if she had been white, this would not have happened to her or her children, hence the white powder makeup she wears, and the red hoody even in the middle of summer. You don't think this might have something to do with living in a 99.9% white community in the 1980's? everybody knew who her family was, and everybody knew where they lived, I pray this was the work of the "hillside strangler" and not some racist moron, trying to "cleanse" the community.... for real, a serial killer is a sick m*****r, but a race killing is twice a sick!!!
