Finally we got some justice for lil Geontae. This monster has been exposed. Now we need the same verdict for his mother (only by birth, she is no real mother)!! Rest In Peace Geontae!! You are missed!!

I just don't understand HOW an adult can beat a child to death, while the other one stands by watching. Why didn't the mother step in and stop the beating? Was she that afraid for her own safety? Or did she not care? Either way, this death is very sad because it was truly murder. Memory Eternal Geontae.

I'm sure they rested because there was no defense for the lowlife... And what a sad excuse for a mother! Rest in peace, little one...

Jail is to good for these two people, just a sad situation how could any mom let this happen much less be a part of it she had a hand in it if nothing else but covering up for this sorry excuse of a man say what u will about her but she is as guilty as he is they both are a sore excuse for a human.

Towles will get what he deserves in prison, when the other inmates find out he beat a child to death with a piece of wood. R.I.P. Geontae.

It saddens me to know that this person will reside on death row for many years to come, at the expense of taxpayers. R. I. P. Gee.

There is no justification for this, no matter what punishment this horrible man recieves. It wont bring Geontae back it wont make anybody feel any better. My heart goes out to that boy and the ones that truly loved him. This should set an example that we as responsible adult citizens should take better care of our younger people. We need to look out for them, care for them, nourish them properly, and help them grow to be the kind of people we want to be. When we see something suspicious, we shouldnt turn our cheek, its our responsbility to take care of our next generation. Im willing to bet that man and the boy's mother were both on drugs. I hope that high was worth it to that mother. She cant undo what she has done, I hope she pays the ultimate price, afterall she is the boy's mother. Mothers out there dont expose your children to a man that worthless. It is not worth it.

this man does not deserve to set in prison for what he did to this child he should get the death penalty and be put to death just like the death he caused. the thought of us {taxpayers}feeding and taking care of this man makes me sick,

Sometimes I wish we used the eye for an eye approach in this country. I think there would be many less of these situations. When I think about that poor little boy and what he went through it breaks my heart over and over and over again. This man, no animal, no scum should be beat to death and let the whole world watch. It won't bring Geontae back, but it would sure be comforting. Thank God he's in a better place.

i dont think he needs lethal injection, he needs to die a slow horrifying death and the mother too this is horrible what happened to the little boy and it sickens me to know his mom just stood by and let it happen!!

The death penalty is way too good for him. Put him and Shalinda Glass in gen. pop. and stand back. THEN, justice would be served. This crime is so heineous, that it defies description!

anyone who can pick up a piece of wood to even slightly spank a 5yr old. little boy is completely heartless and deserves what the judge gave him. That little boy didnt ask to brought into this world and if he scored bad on his report card then his parents should of rethought their study habits with their son instead of beating him to death. that man and the boys momma dont deserve to live. if you take someones life with no remorse then you should be punished equally or worse!!! life in prison would be too much of a luxury for these sorry excuses of human beings!!!!!

DEVASTATING CASE FROM START TO FINISH! MY SYMPHATHY AND RESPECT GOES OUT TO THE JURY FOR WHAT THEY HAD TO EXPERIENCE AND DOING THE ONLY RIGHT AND JUST THING FOR GEONTAE! LET US ALSO PAUSE AND CONSIDER THE OFFICERS/INVESTIGATORS INVOLVED IN THIS CASE FOR PROVIDING THE FOUNDATION FOR THIS TRIAL AND CONVICTION.IT AFFECTED US ALL! LET US REMEMBER THIS CHILD WHO WILL FOREVER HAVE A PLACE IN OUR HEARTS! "BLESS HIM LORD" LET US NOT FAULTER NOW,HIS MOTHER MUST STILL FACE THE FACT THAT SHE HAD AN OBLIGATION TO PROTECT HER CHILD! NOT ONLY DID SHE NOT,SHE CONSENTED AS A PARTY TO THE KILLING WHEN SHE DID NOT CHECK ON HIM OR AT FIRST OPPORTUNITY GO TO THE POLICE! I WILL NOT ACCEPT AN EXCUSE FROM HER!!
