This is another tragic accident that should
not have happened crossing the street in
Quincy Square.

The headline reads "darting" when in fact,
the woman was probably rushing across the street
before the light changed. The time frame
from when a pedestrian pushes the button is
only seconds. Something needs to be done.
Adjust the lights so that pedestrians have
more time crossing the street. It will
save lives.

Drivers need to be more careful. They drive
through crosswalk lights.

Seems like all the recent pedestrians struck may have had issues reading English. We could place crossing instructions in 27 languages at every crossing, OR.... maybe require people to learn English. Reading saves lives.
Pedestrians think because they (may or may not) have the right of way they are safe. My friend just told me how he stopped because he saw a pedestrian paying NO attention step out in the road there, but another car continued on, and the pedestrian was text messaging. Everyone in his car gasped, and he blew the horn to wake the pedestrian up before she stepped in front of the other car. The pedestrian NEVER looked up from her phone, and flipped my friend the finger, never realizing she'd almost been struck. The laws of nature thin out the herd. Cull the stupid ones, makes a stronger breed.
