This is our 3rd time living in AZ. I lived in Mesa for 2 years then moved to Greece. Came back to AZ and Lived in Gilbert (HIGH TAXES) for 2 years, then went back east. Returned to Az and now we have lived in QC for about 2 1/2 years. Mesa and Gilbert were snakes and Scorpion heaven.
We love QC and it's the best and safest by far and housing is much more affordable. Low taxes too.
How much taxes in all total bill , for a $100,000 house ?

I have found a house in QC that I fell in love with. On my own I can't afford anything worth my wild in Gilbert. I think I can deal with the drive...this might be my only complaint. I pray this isn't a wrong move.

My husband and I with our 2 kids live in Queen Creek and we havent had any problems at all. No scorpions or snakes.... My husband is a cable guy and he has been to about every neighborhood out here and says that Circle Cross Ranch,(where we live) is one of the best because of its HOA and we also have an elementary school opening around the corner. But also all of the new shopping centers are opening near us as well! But the other nice areas that we would have been interested in had we known what we know now is Skyline Ranch, Anthem, The Villages, Cortinas and Sossaman Estates. Very nice communities with very nice landscaping and parks for kids. Very safe as well! The only problem Ive ever seen was tagging and that was taken care of right away! Our police are great here. And soon you wont have to worry about the drive cause of all of the new businesses opening and there are talks of building a mall across from Schnepf farms where there is also many fun things to do depending on the season! This is a great place for families in my opinion and I hope it helps!

<quoted text> The market out here sucks, all because of home builders building houses way too many and investors. Our houses out here are selling for way under prices like 80,000 less than they should be the people that bought their houses out here in 2004 like myself have to wait at least 5 years until the market gets better, which I really don't care I like where I live, but all these people just giving their houses away or letting them foreclose that just makes our community SUCK!
Thank you!queen creek is like no other place in the world .the people who knock it are probably the ones doing the crime.anyhow if your planing country we have few cottonfeilds left lol

Hey everyone! I am new to all this. I have a few questions about Queen Creek.
We have visited AZ three times in the past 3 months. I absolutely love Queen Creek in Maricopa County. We have looked into Queen Creek in Pinal (sorry if the spelling is wrong) County, it's pretty far out there, but the housing prices out there are great and affordable. Can anyone give me some info on Queen Creek in Maricopa County and Pinal County. I know taxes are higher in Pinal County but that is about it.
How are the school? I have a 6 yr old
Scorpions? Snakes? anything to worry about?
Crime? Friendly? Family oriented?
We are from San Diego and we want to move to AZ. Any information you have would be great :)
Thanks,
Faun
it is nice here in queen creek but hey we have too many people and families from out of town coming here and living in our town. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. It's getting too crowded out here. There are other nice places you can live in the Phoenix area. More and more people that come out here will crowd our streets and make this place miserable. Save yourself the trip and look somewhere else.

The area east of Phoenix (Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek) is full of those nutty mormons. If you aren't a mormon, you won't feel very welcome. They're crazy, those mormons. But then, they do belong to a really big cult. I keep confusing mormons with scientologists because I can't remember which ones are nuttier.

Anyway, if you're a subservient woman who loves talking about hubby and your eighteen kids and the poopies they make that are so precious, or if you're "Protective Dad!" with your suspicious glances at anyone who's dark or not a Moron then Queen Creek is perfect for you. The scars on the foreheads are a little weird at first, but you soon stop noticing them altogether.

It's a terrific place to raise a nice, Moron family, that Queen Creek is.

Well, I've had family here in QC for several years. They live in Skyline Ranch and my niece goes to Skyline Elem. As far as schools go, if parents are involved with what their kids are doing, then the kids will be fine. You have to remember, teachers and deficits aren't raising our kids. They're there to do a job and keep our kids safe, but test scores can also be attributed to un-involved parents. Do you go over every piece of homework with your kids? Do you know their friends? Do you monitor their activities closely? It's all stuff to consider. As far as bugs go, I've seen my share of little roaches, but no scorpions. Their house, which we're staying in until we get a house, has a few wolf spiders every now and then, but nothing besides the normal. Oh, and there are no sink holes yet.
As far as people being murdered and cars being stolen, ect., that stuff happens everywhere. People die in afluent neighborhoods. Cars get stolen in nice areas. All schools have their share of mischief makers. The "prep" kids just have more money for better (and harder) drugs.
I'm happy I moved my family to QC from Riverside. We have nothing but high hopes and things are going well. Good luck to all of the "transplants" coming in from all over.

I moved to AZ. five years ago. My daughter attended Forence school district and 1 day coolidge school district in San Tan Heights. You coming from San Diego, I am sure you will like it for a while. But a lot of the kids that belong to the parents seem to be x californians also. The majority of that whole area from hunt hwy and riggs all the way to florence and coolidge in the new housing came from different parts of Cali. A lot of gang activity kids trying to bring the crap in from cali. I read one comment copper basin, magic ranch, san tan, and many other new communities suck! People are losing there homes, little want to be gang bangers and the kids that come from good families suffer. Johnson ranch is over rated and has also had set backs. Teachers, principles have been arrested from child porn, to molestation. The teachers are under educated and come from many states and have no experience. If you look up addresses on Pinal county website on the assessors site, you will see when the home was bought, seems strange that most home have been rented out. No one wants to stay there. Crime rate is growing and HOA sucks. Utilities are way over charged. and what ever you do do not go into a KB built home. Your electric bill will be sky high and mildew. Alot of those homes were thrown up so fast through monsoon weather and inside the walls got wet. Now you have heard second hand on just some down falls. Yes, the economy is cheap, but so is the pay out there. Food believe it or not is more expensive than here in cali. oh yes, i moved back to calif. and could not have made a better choice. The school system truly sucks if you go public. There are charter schools with waiting lists. and if you want your child to have the best experience I would look into a charter school if you do move into Queen Creek area. Now, if you go to the older and middle section of queen creek, the people are not low income and the schools are much better. I would stay out of the San tan, copper basin, johnson ranch, mega ranch, areas. oh and be sure to look up registered sex offenders and the felony website. It seems as tho they also like the low economy of Queen Creek. Florence is a prison town, and to tell you the truth the old part of Florence is much safer than the surrounding areas of the newer queen creek south of hunt and elseworth and combs. hope this helps.
