One would think with all these reports of thefts all over the city or the criminal trespass charge we would have been reading about all of them in the police log? Funny, all I recall reading about in the city police log were things about fire alarms. It's usually only in the surrounding areas that we read about theft and criminal trespass. Of course, actually reporting on the incidents might destroy the illusion that Lebanon is crime and drug free. Those of us who live in the city know better and that might have something to do with the poor subscription ratio of the Daily News.

What are you talking about Angry Local Resident? The Daily News regularly lists minor city crimes in the police log, things like public drunkenness, curfew violations, retail thefts and every fender bender that the police report.
You love to criticize the Daily News but you have no problem reading and posting on this web site, which is a free service of the News. All you ever do is criticize and run down the city. Why do you even live here if it's so awful? |

Good job Police and Public Safety Departments. As quoted in yesterday's paper - "In our opinion, the proposed reductions (of employees) will not affect the delivery of city services to the public." How will that be efficiently done with no affect to the public?

In today's paper there are crimes listed but please go back over the last week, which is still accessible on line and look at the listings again. The paper does list these offenses regularly in the surrounding area but not so in the city.
I also happen to be a subscriber to the paper. I have lived here my whole life. I own my home and a great deal invested in my property. I will continue to point out the problems I see in this city until they start seriously doing something about it because I believe that all city employees are accountable to the tax payer. People who want to maintain the illusion that all is well in the city will naturally be offended by this. People who participate in the unethical or illegal activities in the would also not like to have this pointed out. |

You have a problem with everyone dont you boy? It doesnt matter what the topic, you seem to have a problem with the way it was done or with the people who did it. It must be hell to be so miserable with your life that you have to condemn everyone and everything.
You seem to have all the answers, why dont you actually take some action instead of being critical ? The cops arrest this guy and put him away and the only thing you can come up with is Why didnt you read about the other crimes in the police log? ARE you serious ??? I along with many other are sick and tired of your ignorant opionions. And at the very least, when you post an opinion please have the facts RIGHT. You are a stumbling, bumbling idiot that no one wants you ignorant ridicule any longer. Go to a therapist, you are a very ANGRY person and if that deosnt help and you are still angry.....MOVE !

Here are some facts. I am a part of a group of concerned people who follow the police calls on livewatch. We compile the data and compare that against if and when the incidents, especially incidents of theft and criminal trespass appear in the Daily News. In the last 2 months over 85% of those crimes never appeared in the paper. Weighing in the possibilities that some of these calls might be false, it still leaves a large amount of crime that isn't reported in the papers which includes some of the things this person was accused of.
Your personal attacks might make you feel better and to tell the truth, you don't sound as happy as you would like us to believe. Attack all you want, because I'm not going away. Somebody has to point this sort of thing out. It's too late when it happens to your house or in your neighborhood but maybe then you'll be more concerned about the way so many who are in positions to do something about this aren't. |

Many of us bought our homes a long time ago when the city wasn't nearly this bad. We have personal investment in our properties as well as many wonderful memories in these homes. Back then there were police who walked a beat and you got to know them personally. In the mornings you would see people out sweeping their sidewalks and you were often personally connected to your neighbors. Back then we were sweeping off leaves and the occasional liter, not the neighbors garbage, vomit or used condoms. Many of us didn't want to sell our homes in the city when there was a market for them for some of those reasons. Now that market is pretty much gone. It's rapidly becoming a lose/lose scenario. We'll never get the money back that we invested in our properties over the years and city homes often sit for a very long time on the market. Some of the older residents can no longer maintain their properties, so you help where you can but a lot of the younger people who rent from the likes of John Light or some of those purchase just don't seem to care anymore. |

We will have better luck rounding up people like you and let them die of natural causes and them point our finger and said,"here lies all the people that never understood the meaning of living and sharing together the world". |

i finks dem der spinks iz bad,, i doez bad fingz,, i likez 2 smoke da weed. and eatz chicken. y doez dem spinks goz afffer da white womenez.. da muhfuh PRS givz us blackee a bad name. no wonder dem honkeees hatez uz...

I soooo could read that (mostly).. LOL.. yes and some of them PR's do give others a bad name.. and thats not right.. NOT ALL BLACK OR PRS are BAD. SAME with the whites, not all are good... and I agree with angry resident, back in the day we were able to be friends with neighbors and know who they were and look out for eachother.. NOW we have idiots in an apartment building that allow there kids under the age of 8 be awake and running around at 11pm-12midnight... and wake others up that actually work.. but anyway.. I am very happy that caught this guy that raped the girl. I live very close to where this took place and a couple of times I had to call someone just becuz a creepy guy (white, pr, and black) was following me just a short distance and I stayed on the phone til I got where I was going.. it's a shame that just less then 2 minutes a guy can be so close and watching you and you have no control... So one less pervert and AS$$hole on the streets... don't forget all the others out there, don't let the pride get to you to stop looking for all the rest.. |
||||
i find all white people that are really racist so funny because when there is a white guy on the newspaper for anything bad u have nothing to say...and another thing if u want us all to go back to our countries then so should u, back to germany, ireland, where ever u came from |
