I went to the QHS barn this morning to look up some info for the book I am writing on Strong women of Quakertown past. I have been trying to get in there for months and FINALLY a person was there. As soon as Nancy saw me she started right in on her attack mode... which she does to anyone who dares to disagree with her. She told me I was not allowed in the barn as per the Borough managers say so. I explained to her this bldg is open to the public the 1st Sat. of the month and anyone may use it. I also let her know I had been here for the last 2 months on the first Sat. and no one was there to open it as per their lease agreement with the boro. Once again Nancy started in on the excuses why I could not be there, so I left. I went straight down to Borough Hall and spoke to Scott and the council ppl who happened to be meeting there. I told them what Nancy said that "Scott says you are not allowed in the barn and must call Nancy with a request of the books I need to be sent to the library" Scott said he never said that and would call her on Monday. I don't know which books in there would be helpful till I get to sit down and read some.
I am sick of her personal vendetta again me because of who my friends are. I only care about writing my book and getting my facts straight, I don't give a rats behind about Nancy Roberts and her nasty, mean spirited personality. Life's to short to be so angry.
Isn't election time coming up for the Historical society? Since it isn't published about when and where elections are held..maybe someone in the society should grow some balls and stand up to her and stop her from keeping the public out and no money coming in. I for 1 will use my REAL name and call a spade a spade... Shame on you Nancy Roberts.

That may well be... that's not the point. Follow me here Samantha...She is keeping the barn closed when the lease says it must be open to the "PUBLIC" one day a month. Sorry if I confused you.

I've worked with Nancy Roberts on different issues over the past ten years or so. At times we were on different sides. She always acted in a civil, professional manner. Not sure what is motivating this thread, but it's obvious that some have entered with negative agendas.
Quite frankly, if you are indeed being pushed away, there is probably good reason.

Yes! We anonymous bloggers should agree that our favorites should be able to define legal documents according to thier personal "agendas".

Obviously, you didn't read the original post carefully. She went down to Borough Hall on a SATURDAY morning and McElree and council were there...on a SATURDAY morning! Sounds like a tall tale to me...and someone who wants to smear Nancy's name!

Hey, if I go to the Richland Township, Haycock Township, or Milford Township buildings on a Saturday morning, will I find the respective township managers and supervisors waiting there, just for me???

I often wondered what treasures are stored in the historical society barn, and have never had the chance to see them as it is closed. How do we get in to the society and its treasures?

Council had some kind of meeting Saturday morning at Borough Hall...so Aimee may very well be telling the truth. I know because my son plays on the same soccer team as Councilman Scholls son and Ed was late because of it.
