Just your typical HOA. It is a nice neighborhood. Lots of young couples with kids.
HOA does a good job of making sure people keep up with their property.
What do you mean by how strict the HOA is?
PA's HOAs tend to be less strict than a lot of other states, because the state laws arent as strict for the HOA. Now, there are a lot of HOA's that are strict, but overall they arent too bad.
PA's HOA laws are like 13 chapters, Florida's are like 13 volumes, lol.
If you are going to move into an HOA, you have to be prepared to follow the rules. I would suggest readin the bylaws prior to even looking at a house there, so you dont get attached to the house and look at the bylaws with rose colored glasses.
People love to move into HOA's and then complain about the rules, even though the rules were there when they moved in. If you break a rule in an HOA, be prepared to hear from the board.
Also, ask them to see the books, so you can see how healthy the HOA is and to make sure that money isnt being misappropriated. That also happens sometimes. The last thing you want is the HOA going belly up...then it can get expensive.
I live in one and though it was bad when I first moved in, it has gotten much better and it seems people that care are running it now.
