Why do people that have nice homes make the front of their yards such an eyesore? After turning off Allentown Road and making a right onto Sycamore Drive (Parkside Estates), I was greeted by the ugliest rockwall (guess they had to use all the rocks they found in their lawn) on the left hand side and than the most disgusting use of a front lawn on the right hand side (aka: ugly fencing, loaded with mulch with grass growing out and some alien derived circle in the front lawn). Seriously, I do not live in this neighborhood (just a good cut thru driver I am), but I would honestly complain! Nice houses, but the poor landscaping must go. With housing prices dropping already, these people should complain as these two houses will only bring down their values further.

This is the perfect example of people who are house poor. I would bet most struggle to pay their mortgage payment each month, god forbid saving for retirement or kids college. If thats the case, how could they ever afford landscaping? A friend of mine studied landscape architecture in college. Here is a rule of thumb when you have a house built. Plan to spend 10-20% of the total cost of the house on landscaping. Now these Parkside Estates houses were 500K, so they should be spending 50-100K on the landscaping. However, I would bet most of them are off at Lowes buying plants for $20 for arborvitaes. Another tell tale sign of lack of budget landscaping, drive buy in August when we havent had rain for a month. Every house in that neighborhood should have a green lawn because of their irrigation system. Reality, maybe 1 or 2 houses have them, if that. Steak taste, hamburger budget.....Have fun for the next 30 years, or longer struggling to pay that mortgage. But hey, the house looks great (wink, wink).

My husband and I work hard for our money and landscaping is the LAST thing we want to waste dollars installing and keeping after it. We would much rather use the money to pay the high QCSD school taxes and buy food for the kids. Sycamore Drive neighbors work together and then we worship spaceships at the Circle. Milford Township is giving us free sewer in exchange for allowing the supervisors to land their space craft on our Circle.

Here's some sage advice for any Qmartians that don't like it... It's the same advice you tell Haycock residents: MOVE!!!! That seems to be the simplest solution that you QMartians' brains can muster, so why not take your own advice?

"Landscaper" uses a road in someone else's neighborhood as a shortcut on their commute and then complains about having to look at the scenery along the way. I think that the people who live there would have an equal "right" to complain about "Landscaper" unnecessarily contributing to traffic and noise in their neighborhood. In reality, these homeowners have the right to have slobby-looking yards that detract from the neighborhood and "Landscaper" has the right to "short-cut" drive on a public road that he/she pays federal and state gas taxes to maintain even though it adds to traffic and noise there. In the end neither sides' activities contribute to enhancing that neighborhood.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe those people like it, and that it's none of your business. If you're a landscaper, offer to fix it for free in exchange for a sign on their lawn. Otherwise STFU.

Here's an idea "Landscaper", don't use this developement as a cut through. You must make enough money to afford gas to drive the long way. And yes, if you don't like what you see, stop by and put your business card around the neighborhood. You might be surprised what these people could afford. I personally know of a few people in that developement that put well over 40K into their yards. Now some just like to be do-it-yourselfers, so go sue them. But FYI, there are a lot of lawyers living over there!

You don't live in the area, you don't pay the bills for running the house so shut your mouth, it is none of your business. Your entitled to your opinion and so am I, your opinion sucks.

Whats with the house on the corner of Sycamore Drive and Kumry Road. Still has the original model name in front as well as about 20 american flags (yes I would guess they are American). I personally like the decorative 8-10" weeds as their landscaping!
Parkside residents: their are ordinances on weeds, etc that Milford Twp has in place. Look at their website and complain to the township.

Parkside is a beautiful neighborhood. If you live there, you are lucky and should be grateful. How rude for Landscaper to criticize someone's home. What does his trailer look like?

I bet Landscapers trailer property has some better landscaping taste than some of the homes in Parkside. Looks like we have some Philly trash moving into Parkside that do not take care of their properties.

Philly trash? Next time I count the number of teeth at the Q-mart of the "old school" Quakertown hicks, I'll try to keep that in mind. The guy you refer to on the left side, we call the rock man because he went around and got every rock in the area and put it in his front yard...He works for Septa and I can certainly tell you he is white trash along with his crack skinny wife. Lets just say he isnt fond of his non-traditional not white neighbors! He sits on $2 Lawn chairs with his shirt off by the sidewalk but still on his driveway and gives dirty looks to all us other neighbors and hes about 120 lbs overweight. Then his crack skinny wife obstructs traffic flow by parking in certain spots waiting for her kids at the corner; yes their three houses down from the corner! Too hard to walk I guess. We call that other property the "pet cemetary." They had a great idea and planning but something happened in the planning stages to actual production. They are nice people although each resident did sign a contract stating they wouldnt put fencing in the front lawn! I am glad my house is for sale!

Wow! Now I rest my case about "never" wanting to live in a developement! It's true that everyone knows each others business. Good luck with the sale of your house John. Tell your realtor to keep any potential buyers away from the rock man and pet cemetary properties. It sounds like that could scare people away!

There are always "bad apples" in every neighborhood. This is to be expected whenever you move into a new neighborhood. Not every homeowner will have a eye-appealing landscaping. Some just can't afford it as they put all their money into the house. At least you do not have the people leaving their trash cans in front of their garage all the time like in my neighborhood!

I have a brother that lives in that neighborhood. I try to visit him and the family about every two weeks. When driving 15 mph on sycamore lane, there are these two as*holes that put out "Slow children at play signs." and will proceed to scream at people telling them to slow down and "the speed limit is 10 mph." (It's 25) I am so glad that I dont live next to these idiots. I understand you want to keep your kids safe but, placing non authorized traffic control devices in the middle of the street is illegal; allowing your children to play in the street is also illegal. I have kids and I empathize with you. However, running after cars and screaming at them is not the way to go! I hope the state troopers see those sign and ticket both you idiots who live next to each other near the corner of buttonwood lane!

Steve, I live in the development. They put those damn signs in the middle of the street; yes, they put four children at play sign in the middle of the street. I have seen the one gentleman whom I dont know personally run after cars and scream loud words your children should not hear. I thought my gosh this guy is going to one, get beat up or two, shot. He screamed at a visitor one time and the guy got out of the car and literally scared the guy back into his house. I dont know why we all cant get along? Park your cars on the street and let your kids play in your driveway like everyone else, they are certainly big enough to do so! I think the next time I see them up I am calling milford township and filing a complaint!

Don't know if you've noticed, but the economy is not so hot lately. People are cutting back on non-necessities. Hate to bring folks back to reality, but landscaping, while attractive, is not a necessity. And guess what, Landscape Architects are suffering through this economy as bad, or worse than just about anybody else. I deal with several in my business dealings. unfortunately there have been lots of layoffs in the field. Bucks County Resident wrote: This is the perfect example of people who are house poor.
