Retrofitting is actually quite economical. It only cost me $320.00 WITH INSTALLATION INCLUDED!
I had my two car garage door retrofitted with 2 (seven foot) professionally installed Hurricane Posts for only $320 by a Fort Lauderdale company called:
EDL (Electronic Door-Lift, Inc.
They came in and within 1 hour they drilled the holes, set-up the brackets and went over the setup instructions.

In this Punta Gorda house, the garage door was completely blown in by Hurricane Charley, but the home next door had a properly reinforced door which stayed intact.
