Assumming this is a real story (sorry, but it IS April 1, so you can never be too careful), this isn't necessarily a bad thing because once Pedersen leaves CSI is done, so even if he has a reduced workload, the fact he still will retain involvement in the show means it can continue. If they didn't do this, he probably would have moved on awhile ago.

I'm not a huge fan of CSI, but I do catch it every once in awhile and find it enjoyable. I don't agree that the show would be done without Petersen. He's not really that good of an actor and doesn't bring anything to the show that another person in the role of CSI supervisor wouldn't bring. I actually find him a little annoying at times (I'm not sure if it's the acting or the character that annoys me). I think the show could continue to do well without him.

CSI can do as well without Petersen as with him. He brings nothing of substance to the show.

As long as he's on the show and since Fox is coming back, they will continue GSR! But, without Petersen there would be no show. His weird ways of thinking and his weird (but yet cool) expiraments really add to the show and make it interesting. Without him, there is no show. It's just he's been there forever and if he leaves, the show will not be as good. I am a huge fan of CSI and if he leaves and if Fox didn't come back, there would be NO show, their backgrounds are interesting and more realistic then the others especially Fox's and it just adds more life to the show and makes it funner to watch.

Actually, he's the only one on the show who I wish would go. His character is one-dimensional and adds nothing to the show.
