How many people visit the US each year? You want me to believe that visitors don't get sick on vacation? Also with today's economy what's wrong with trying to save money? There are lots of illegal immigrants who work in circumstances like the one described in this story. However, the vast majority of illegal immigrants don't work under the table. They assume an identity and DO contribute to payroll taxes, including social security, etc. I think this story paints an inaccurate picture and fuels misconceptions about the issue of illegal immigration.

This puts the raw facts in your face. These ARE jobs Americans will and used to do until these jobs were taken away from Americans and given to illegal aliens by greedy criminal employers.

Every construction and manufacturing worker in America that’s laid off, or plain out of work needs to look around his/her areas they work. If contractors have what looks like illegal aliens doing the work Call ICE. I know this will look like profiling but if it walks, looks, quacks it’s a duck.

What is blatantly missing is the name of the employer. These raids and arrests are nothing more than a dog and pony show, attempting to convince taxpayers that DHS/ICE is doing their job. To address your last sentence, I did. I was also married to one, so in my own way, I did double duty.
Now, I may not have been the best student in math, but I can do basic fractions and percentages. If we go by the lowest estimate of the number of illegal aliens present today in the United States, that would be 20 million. At the present time, our population is closing in on 300 million. So 20 million out of 300 million is 2% how? The latest estimates put the actual number of illegals at close to 38 million. That would make them over 10% of our population. So, please do not come in here and lecture any of us about how awful we are until you get your facts straight. There are more ways to legally enter this country than just marriage or familial relations. The problem is too many people in this world feel it takes too long and cost too much. The easiest way to solve that problem is to stop letting people in period. Would you prefer we just do that instead? How about you do a little more research and come back and tell me another country who allows as many legal immigrants each year as the US does. I'll be here waiting.

Illegal immigrants are costing CA taxpayers BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

Education is California's single largest public expenditure and commands 42% of that state’s $150 BILLION budget. The State of California's Legislative Analyst's Office reports that of the state's 6.4 million K through 12 public school students, one out of four (illegal immigrants) is not fluent in English. Of that number, 85% are Spanish speaking (illegal immigrants). Additionally, one out of nine of these (illegal immigrant) students require special education programs.

These children of Spanish speaking foreign (illegal) immigrants increase California's K-12 enrollment by 21.3%, nearly 1.4 million (illegal immigrant) students. At $11,584 each, which is the state’s 2007-2008 budgeted allocation per student, the cost of educating these (illegal immigrant) students is $15.8 BILLION. Add in the $1.3 BILLION for special programs to accommodate non-English speaking (illegal immigrant) students, and the cost increases to $17.1 BILLION. The state's current budget deficit is projected to be $16 BILLION.

In addition, incarceration of illegal immigrants on California State Prisons costs taxpayers 1.4 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR.

Study Shows 25 Percent Of L.A.'s Welfare Goes To Illegal Aliens
