If it's a safety issue then rules should be followed. Seeing as how it's a Puerto Rican festival I'm sure the race card will be dealt and some sort of "compromise" will be made.

unless you are Barnaby Evans I guess you don't get the hottest spot to have an event...or to say what is sold or not sold...like everything else it is always about the money...gay pride has had the same problem. where do we put them?...someone wrote about the ethnic card being pulled...yes i am...pulling it...and i am italian...white...and gay. Providence is not the same anymore...big business are in controll of it all...and the ones that pay the taxes and live here all year around have no consideration at all...from a business end either...i am a street vendor that is tierd of eating the crap that comes out of city hall...oh well! Florida here I come....love ya but i got to go can't make a living here anymore...and yes i am staying anonymous...still have the rest of the season to work without being harrased.

It seems that local businesses (who are really not local) run our state. WHo is paying the taxes around here. They are not worried about industrial hazards. They are worried there patrons will be embarrassed to park in the area where families who wish to spend time and have clean fun in there own neighborhood. The people in Rhode Island are sick and tired of the red tape>DOes the govenor want Rhode Island to grow or continue to lose its population as it has beenfor the last 5 years under his administration. The fact they decide to put a halt on this cultural event 3 days before it is scheduled to come about.
