There must be something in the water in Danville...ignorance. Anytime I hear about Danville it has something to do with animal abuse or neglect or some dim wit doing something stupid. I am sure there are some decent people there but I never hear about it. Danville is the arm pit of Virginia. What else has this "so called" officer done that no one knows about? No wonder people are angry. What kind of low life inbread looser would shoot a little neighborhood dog. At the very least he has some bad karma coming.

I've jogged in many areas, rural and city - and ran into my share of dogs -- and I mean BIG dogs -- and I've not had to resort to pepper spray yet. Most will change their tune and back off just from my tone of voice and change in posture. I've only had to hit one and that was with a well aimed rock. This joker policeman should be put at a desk. Let him answer the phones - but don't let this Barney Fife have a gun.

It was so sicking to hear of this little dogs death a neighborhood friend and it had to die ,I would say make this office work with the humane society but all thoses animals would be at risk of having their heads stomped in, so mabe it would be better if this person had a job in a sewer at least they would have something in common.dont let your kittens or bunnies or grandmas out in danville va or they will get shoot.

that if people would spay and neuter you could help control the population???? did you know as well that you can take an animal that's not yours and get it spayed/neutered as a favor if they're unable to pay or just helping a stray. there are places out here that offer cheaper rates all you have to do is look for them. if you're having a problem with your local animal control or police officers start making noise. don't just sit by and let wrong/bad things happen. y do we have a voice if we don't use it? do the right thing.
