The bus driver should have attempted to remove the lady from the bus immediately. She was allowed to be on the bus way to long.

I'm sure this scene played out rather quickly and the driver reacted the way most of us would. The mother should be punished to the full extent of the law for endangering a bus full of children. This woman's children should also be checked on by a child protection agency. What kind of mother is allowing alcohol to be a factor in her decision making at 7am while her children are in her care?

As you can seen from the news clip, she looks like trash, lives in trash, it must run in her family

The first step onto a school bus by anyone should be enough to justify the use of force by the bus driver to remove the intruder. At least get in between the intruder and our kids. Maybe an aide or volunteer on each bus would be a good idea.

Pray for driver and kids

The driver and children on the bus are all victims. We should pray for them all. And the children of this mad woman. They are suffering too. They said on the news and in all the articles I have read that the boy was hit with a open hand. That's not the case. He was punched in the faced and bruised. She should be charged with felonies for both assaults. The school needs to release the footage.

I hope they keep her locked up for quite a long time. CPS has been to her house several times but nothing has ever been done about the conditions her children were made to live in. She is an alcoholic and a junkie. She is a very angry person and blames everyone else for her problems instead of admitting that she is the one with the problem. Her children have been sent home numerous times for having lice and she has also been in trouble for her children missing so much school. I feel sorry for her children to have to live like they do and for having to be humiliated by their own mother. It is nothing unusual for her to be drunk that early in the morning....she is always drunk.

Not releasing the video tape of the incident promptly makes Fairland look like there is something to hide. She was 100% wrong but should the driver have reacted toward her quicker which would have prevented the student from getting punched. Seems to me that she was on the bus a long time. Release the tapes is the thing to do.

Release the tapes is the thing to do. They will release it in due time . I dont know the law but I dont think they can just release the tape without getting permission from everyone that shows up on the tape , especially being underage students . Im betting they will release it with all the students faces blurred out . I do know one thing , if i had been that bus driver and she smacked that kid , she would have had flown out the door , compliments of a size 12 front kick to her chest .

Then he'd be the one in trouble. Scum has a tendency to turn it around like that. They are doing the right thing - cant wait till they do-

One request from the driver to the woman to get off the bus is all that is necessary. Three seconds later she should have been physically removed from the bus by the driver. The kid would not have been touched. How can anyone not agree with that?

Everyone who was there that day is a victim, excluding her. Her children had to witness their mother being out of control as well as the other children on the bus. I hope she is put away for a very long time over this. Her children will forever be known as the children of the crazy lady on the bus. I hope that councilling is offered to everyone involved that day.

Hard to move real quick when you are seatbelted. She started to get off then real quickly reached forward and hit the boy. She is the only one who did anything wrong. Put the blame where it belongs, all on her. lock her up

I'm sure the bus driver was shocked and it all happened so quick. If he would've got up and bitch slapped her like she needed he'd be the one in jail and being talked about. In all the years of this school district I'm sure this is the first time this has happened. Not saying its the last, just saying I'm sure it's not something many other parents would do. Sounds like she's a real winner, poor kids of hers

My daughters bus driver told other parents that she would have removed the lady from the bus long before she had a chance to hit her or the student. Hope more are like her and not like this one.

Support the good guys
United States

The problem with our society is that too many people support the wrong person. Kuddos to the bus driver. The event was unusual and certainly called for some quick thinking. If he freaked out people would have said oh my poor kids had a poor example of how to handle a potentially dangerous situation. He did the best he knew...this could have been very bad depending on the drivers reaction. The mom was wrong. Give the bus driver a break. How about good move to get her off before she hurt anyone else. Who knows what the traffic was like where he was stopped? Protecting the kids is number one...
