So.. I'm probably answering my own question.. But with Hurricane Sandy and the crazy weather that we are having.. Is there still going to be trick or treating?

I will not be taking my children out! I agree with Great... you're crazy if you do but that's your choice. I have heard one county(Raleigh/Fayette)is NOT having trick or treating. The Mayor/Manager announced that they would reschedule it. Too bad our city officials don't have that much common sense.

There is no way I would risk taking my children out to trick or treat in this kind of weather! If the weather is too bad for them to go to school, it's too bad for them to be out begging for candy. I'm the parent and the one responsible for their safety, and my answer would be a firm NO. Also, if you're in a neighborhood where many trick or treaters will be coming to your door, do you really want to be opening your door numerous times to hand out treats when it's 30 degrees outside? Sorry, but no amount of candy is worth this type of hassle. Just seems like a no-brainer to me.

I really hope that they reschedule the day/time for trick or treating. I would hate for our children to miss out due to the weather. This weather really stinks. :(

WVVA has said that trick or treating will be on Thursday. I think this is a great idea.

No, this is just for the city of Bluefield. I am assuming that Princeton will go on ahead and have theirs tonight.

Wvva said no such thing, Princeton treating us still tonight n bluefield is tmr night. Wvva simply said, Mercer county residents are strongly urged to not go out trick or treating on Tuesday or Wednesday. I think its terrible that the county will not reschedule this activity. I mean our children have been looking forward to parties and other fun stuff all month long and now they won't get to enjoy any of this due to the weather. Sad for the kids that Mercer county officials are so heartless.

With all the disaster that's been occurring... We should be focused on others instead of ourselves... Go buy your kids a bag of candy and let them pig out! Geeze...

I'd rather not have my Gkid out in this crazy weather, its too dangerous in my opinion to be running around in the dark during a storm. I remember not having halloween when I was a kid due to an early winter storm, yeah its a little disappointing when you are a kid, but get creative and do something else with them instead, like baking something fun, making marshmallow treats. It isn't the end of the world if they don't go begging for treats from total strangers. If you know your neighbors surrounding you ask them if they are going to participate in giving kids candy and maybe hold it at someone's house, even if its in a garage or shed. Sometimes you have to compensate in other ways instead of complaining that its not rescheduled. And be glad your kids are still able to go out for halloween, with all the storm damage up the east coast, many won't be doing anything but sitting in storm shelters.

If half of the people that threw a fit over when to trick or treat would get out and volunteer or help their fellow man out in some way, this world would be a better place.Give me a break.

Why do you think they don't volunteer and help others?

I agree with dragon fly!!! They didn't go to school, we are in a state of emergency, and some people think the kids need to be outside trick or treating for candy!!! People are crazy!! I had parents bringing babies in strollers to my house previous years and I give them a pacifier!! Do they think people are stupid? The parents are out begging for candy and they are toothless or obese! Some parents are stupid and that's why their kids don't have a chance!!

I wanted to take my kids as bad as anyone, it was going to be the youngest ones first time, but there's no way I would take them out in this weather.

Duh! I think weve all agreed that we shouldn't take our kids out. But a lot of us spent money. Costumes aren't cheap anymore. I just don't know why they wouldn't postpone it.
