We shouldn't be ranked at all.

It's not justified for UW to be placed into the tournament. They have not earned a spot. They haven't made any improvement since the beginnig of the season. The stats are anemic and the style of play is more than boring. Wisconsin fans deserve a program that is much better than it has become. Absent Skille's goal against Cornell we would have a different coach. One play does not make or break a successful coach. Eaves first 6 seasons are on a par with Sauer's last 6 seasons. The Eaves era will, hopefully, draw to a close soon then Mark Johnson can launch an era of success and fun.

unfortunately I agree with Tom. I was pulling for Johnson to get the job when Sauer left, but I think the admin wanted to cut all ties with that group. Those last few Sauer years were especially undisciplined. I thought Eaves was a suitable coach and then he won the Natl Title. The last two years have been horrible however. I know there have been early departures, but top schools don't rebuild they just reload. He seems to be recruiting just fine. I read someone else's comment once that WI should not be fighting for 1st round WCHA home ice. We should be perennial top 3 in conference, and top 10 nationally. It almost feels like the players have a lack of enthusiasm or do not have a sense of "Badger pride". I met Eaves in a restaurant right after he got hired and I told him, "...I don't care how many games you win, just beat the Gophers." Sometimes they do not play with enough emotion or sense of urgency. I don't know how else to say it. I'm not sure Eaves is motivating them properly and his "style" of hockey does not seem to suit the talent he is recruiting. If Eaves does leave, I would still like to see Osiecki stay on as the defense coach.

All I can say that UW had their chances this year and didn't come through. They're a yound team that battled through a lot and just came up a little short. We can just sit and pray for a miracle now. That point we could have got friday night in Denver hurts even more now.

Mike Eaves should be ashamed of the way his team has played both last year and this year. He belongs in the NHL.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Pisces

Are you feeling fraught? It certainly seems that way, perhaps because you've got far too much on your plate and not nearly enough time to tackle it all. Do yourself a big favor and start with whatever is most urgent, otherwise you'll waste time by dithering or getting caught up in trivial tasks. Above all, don't get into a panic because that will squander valuable time and energy.
