Finally some reasonably balanced reporting on global warming, or the lack thereof. I was beginning to think that we weren't ever going to get information from the Sentinel that might possibly, just possibly, contradict Al Gore and his buddies. Hmm, obviously this is another dumb republican, it debunks the affect on increasing hurricane intensity. That was always controversial, the fact that global warming is fact is supported by this and now even the bush administration. Funny how facts eventually get out.

Global warming is very real, and here to stay. The only debate is about timing and severity, but there really is no intelligent debate whether or not we're influencing the climate. We are.

That being said, hurricanes and weather in general are very complicated. I'm not surprised global warming may not spawn apocalyptic hurricanes. Yes, the oceans will be warmer but other factors influence hurricane development as well. How will global warming impact wind shear, the jet stream, Bermuda/Azores high and all the other elements that contribute to when hurricanes form and where they go? We don't know, but warming may mitigate factors that influence hurricane formation. At least we can hope so.

This is old news that was never widely reported. The "global warming" lunatic who developed the computer model for "global warming" effects on hurricanes was totally shocked when the data that he fed into his super computer showed no appreciable difference in the frequency or intensity of hurricanes. In fact, the prediction was for less hurricane activity. He was "stunned" by the results. His only comment was that he would have to rethink his assumptions. Its finally being covered by the liberal media.

Silly people... the paper in question started off with a biased predisposed outcome. I.E. Bad science..

The paper is titled. "Simulated REDUCTION in Atlantic hurricane frequency under twenty-first-century warming conditions" (emphasis added).

Need I say more.. The desired outcome was included in the title of the paper.

Amoung the inproper assumptions used in this simulation.. it ONLY simulates for the months from August to October. Well, we've all known that Hurricane season is expands date wise when the ocean waters are very warm.

In 2005 we saw TS starting from early June "Arlene" and kept on going until early January(2006) "Zeta"!!

It should also be noted that NOAA's NHC ability to forecast intensity has been severly compromised by politics.
Just how can the NOAA/NHC intensification forecasts be consistantly wrong 98% of the time?

Nearly all recent intensification forecasts have ended up in the less the 2% predicted column.

Which represents less than 0.1% of the grads in our country. Many of these signers are from the non-science degree categories like english and philosophy!!

Previous petitions have made a number deceptive claims. Including the names of many people who never signed their petition.
