We live in Neponset and can smell the fumes from here. I feel so sorry for the employees and owners of this plant, it seemed to be an up and coming operation. Saw two large tanks waiting to be installed there last week and now there is nothing. The firemen are doing the best they can, but water has to hauled in from elsewhere by dozens of firetrucks and water will not put out chemical fires.

I am from Sheffield and my dad is one of the firemen out there. Wyanet is not being evacuated, just told to stay in and keep windows and doors closed. I was out there at the intersection of 40 & 34 handing out water and bringing stuff to my dad about 11-11:30 and the smoke was still pouring out and there was still explosions going off and fireballs high up in the air. I pray then men and woman out there stay safe!

Shouldn't there be a crawl on the bottom of the television screen, warning people of this? Not everyone has internet access, or has a radio turned on.

you would think they would have something, that way people who needed to drive that way could find a route that was not blocked off.

I agree, I live in wyanet but we are in Princeton now, it's darker here but you really can't see the smoke which makes me fear that who knows what is in the air but because no one can see anything that looks like real danger who knows what we are breathing in!

Fista Cuffs that's not necessary to start posting nonsense like that! The fire has NOT spread! The fire is still going due to all the chemicals but it's contained. Firemen are getting sick from the chemicals and smoke but should hopefully be OK. You should all prey that they remain safe.
