Anyone that thinks the bible should even be allowed a child needs a head adjustment, a child cant even see a boob on american tv but can read some pretty disgusting things of rape and other sexual instances (all that would be crimes today) in the bible and people are fine with that...so i LMAO at u christians for it. Furhtermore read up on what the so called creator that loves us thinks of slavery, reference Exodus on it. And if u want to say thats old testament and we dont follow that low anymore then why the big fuss over the 10 commandment displays cuz im a pretty confident that is old testament too.
fact is that if the crusades and inquisition hadnt happened and the so called good roman catholics had not murdered everyone that didnt believe then maybe the whole new testament thing would be the same as greek mythology today.
one day u will have to face it, no matter what god u believe in u are still gonna be wrong. people have paid tribute to thousands of gods that all seem to disappear as soon as something more warm and fuzzy feelin comes along and the whole time nothin was ever proven to make the god before that one wrong.
religion is the first step to insanity.....and u can quote that one :D

I understand that but my point is, the word theory means a guess or a speculation. It seems to me if evolution is based on proven science then why refer to that as a theory. Why not refer to evolution as proven science? That is my question... but what do I know?

I see from the information you provided that once a person becomes a true Christian and then walks away from the faith he/she was baptized in now has no hope of forgiveness by God.
I do see a problem with that because of the parable of the prodical son. Why have that parable if the son cannot be forgiven?
Good point
(1) No True Christian/Believer can Ever unknow the truth!
(2) The Prodigal son "Knew" he'd be better off at his Fathers house... even as a hired hand!
(3) Just as he loved his son, God Loves us, and gave us a way HOME!
(4)Thank you Jesus!
(5) AMEN!

Science accepts as "facts" those things that can be observed and repeatedly tested.
But we can't reproduce in a single lifetime, or even several lifetimes, that which occurred over trillions of lifetimes. It can't be done because too much time is involved.
That doesn't mean we can't take all the facts that we DO have about geology, anthropology, biology, zoology and many other related fields and construct the "scientific theory" of evolution from them.
It's not guesswork...it's not speculation...
Evolution fits the collected facts that we have.
Goddidit is based on no facts at all.
Since man started growing bacteria cultures in petry dishes...
we've grown Trillions of generations...
NOT One of them turned into anything OTHER than the bacteria it started out to be!
There is your proof!

Theory does not mean guess. It is technically a description of some set of facts that accurately predicts what we observe. The fact of evolution is described by the Theory of Evolution.
You need to educate yourself on these things before dismissing them. Believe it or not scientists have an elaborate and formalized language that has been developed over centuries by hard work, trial, and error. They do not just toss words around willy nilly.
Words mean different things in different contexts. If you tell your sister you're gonna kill her it means something completely different from when a psycho says it to her.
Hahahahaha!
And that "Fact" will change tomorrow... AGAIN!

Separation of church and state exists for a reason. Its up to a parent to decide what religion their child should be brought up in if any at all. If you want bible in school send them to a christian school. People really don't realize how diverse even the christian beliefs are between denominations.
I say pay more attention to important life learning things that belong in school like math and science.
Can we send our "School tax" Money to those Christian schools TOO???
Or at least a Charter school so we can GET what WE pay for?

In my own opinion, if any human being of any age wants to learn of the bible, then they should do it in a church or at home. Not at school. There are many people of different faiths and even no faiths. Even in the teenage group.
Here's an interesting study...
I heared this the other day...
Seems a large percentage of kids raised in an atheistic house...
turns towards faith later!
About the same percentage of faith based children turning from faith in college...

Here's what I was talking about before with Judas:
http://errancy.org/judas.html
Matthew 27:5-8 has Judas hanging himself. Acts 1:18-19 has him falling down headlong. These are two totally different stories.
It is hilarious to read the Apologists try to harmonize these two different stories. They have to speculate, re-define terms, and assume a BUNCH of stuff that isn't clearly stated in the text.
But the more obvious answer is that the Bible is a collection of stories written by different people at different times and is NOT a harmonized text directly inspired by a perfect deity. Yet for some reason that reasonable conclusion is rejected by Fundies for the more palatable idea that God wrote it and the obvious flaws are really super-clever things that we're too stupid to understand.
Matthew
27:3 Then Judas, who had betrayed him, when he saw that he was
condemned, repented and brought again the thirty pieces of
silver to the chief priests and elders,
27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed innocent
blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see thou [to that].
27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and
departed, and went and hanged himself.
.
Acts
1:16 Men, brethren, This scripture must needs have been
fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke
before concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus.
1:17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this
ministry.
1:18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity;
and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all
his bowels gushed out.
1:19 And it was known to all the dwellers at Jerusalem; so that
that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is
to say, The field of blood.
.
Matthew states that Judas gave back the $, Acts does not say Judas bought the land with the $, but the $ was used for the purchase!
Could have been the guy that gave the Blood money to begain with!
We can see how you might be confused about things...
Study harder!

Trillions of generations of bacteria grew in the same amount of time that they always did. A FEW YEARS.
You are dense.

I've heard that animals (excluding man) have a poor or non-existant sense of Time. There is only "was," and "now."
I think we must include you in this group.
You simply can't conceive of Time on a large scale.

Thinking is what brought me to conclude that there are no "gods."
Yahweh may be "real" for you...but it's all in YOUR head.
If it wasn't, you could prove your claim.
Just yelling "god is real" convinces no one.

Yep. The New Testament was assembled from scattered writings and accounts that had survived the diocletianic persecution. There is conclusive evidence that creative editing was done with those collective texts. One example is that content was cut and pasted between the synoptic gospels. There must have been more omissions than can be counted, since much (probably most) of the original manuscripts where intentionally destroyed. By the mid to late 300's the gospels of the gnostics, the "Q sources", the hebrew gospels (including the original Gospel of Matthew) and others were outlawed by decree.
Emporer Constantine had died by 338 AD, and the tolerance embodied with the Edict of Milan waned as the church grew its power base. The bishops of the Councils of Nicaea, Constantinople and Carthage progressively argued and adopted the stories and tenets that became the Catholic Canon.(The Bible evolved. LOL!) The Holy Ghost had a sex change to masculine, Judas became a villian instead of an errand boy and Mary Magdalene was demoted from first disciple and consort to (implied and commonly accepted) whore.
I find it ironic - and no little bit pathetic - that the myriads of Christian sects that have arisen since 400 AD have each rooted their theologies on the product of the Third Council of Carthage, yet the majority of them renounce the Catholicism which created it as being a false religion. It's a bit like eating liver because you are a vegetarian.
