Taxes wrote: <quoted text>The little tax on cancer sticks in kentucky is not fair. In most states they have tax on them as much as half the price of the sticks. Floyd county needs to put a sales tax as much as an additional 15% on the sticks. I think the fiscal court has that authority. I agree. We need to include alcohol as well. 15 percent on that nasty stuff would go a. Long way on the county debt.

Cigarettes today and hoepfully perfume tomorrow not allowed in public. Tax them both heavy for the damgage they do. Someone mentioned drug and pill heads. Am I wrong? I thought that was already illegal. I don't want to make anyone set out in the caol rain and heat while I'm dining in a controled enviorment. Its there choice. If they want to smke let them pay the price. Why should we suffer for their nasty habbit?

american wrote: Another communist move made by the city. Government should not be allowed to regulate smoking. Tobacco is a major cash crop here in Kentucky. First government hurts the tobacco industry by placing smoking bans. Now there trying to kill the coal business. Bunch of cry babies. Americans should have the right to choose weather they smoke or not. Its still legal. The founders of this country smoked tobacco when they signed the declaration of independence. But, Tobacco was real Tobacco then, now it's not, it's full of fake additives such as flamaldehyde (embalming fluid) and lots of other things. You aren't smoking the real stuff anymore. If you notice elders who smoked all their life weren't sick from it, now everyone is!

There are cures for lots of diseases, however they want to manage them not extinct them. With management of a disease comes profitts from people who buy medicines.

kungfu wrote: Well how long has it been since P-Burg went smoke free? I recall all you smoke addicts saying all the local businesses would close the doors and the city go broke because you can't come in and blow your nasty smoke on us. Look out for what is coming next! All you idiots that wear your cheap stinking cologne to try to cover up your stinking arese that are coverd up with smoke will soon have to leave that junk at home also. Yes that's correct set out side in the cold rain or hot sun while us non smokers cologne free folks are inside enjoying out meals. Be careful not to choke while eating your meal. And stay off the sauce - then maybe you can write a more intelligent post.
