This area is getting more and more congested all the time and the secondary roads are the only relief. I for one am tired of bicyclers riding two or three abreast on the rural country roads. Bicycles can’t go as fast as cars. I have yet to see some of these groups of bicyclers on the back roads stop at a stop sign which they are supposed to do. On any Saturday or Sunday about a hundred bicyclers run the stop sign at the corner of my yard. These people do not buy a license for the privilege of driving on the road so therefore they should have to yield to those that do. Get off the road and let the cars go past. Using the road to exercise is not legal in town and nor should it be in the country.
Every time a couple houses are built along a road the speed limits are reduced. People in these new developments complain about the speeding motorists going by their developments. The problem I see is these people from these new complexes don't obey the stop sign laws and pull out in front of cars without stopping. Speed limits of 25 and 35 miles an hour on rural roads is ridiculous and if speed limits are being reduced because of walkers and bicyclers then sidewalks need to be installed and the roads need to be widened and lined off for bikes. If the South Londonderry Police would start watching the stop signs instead of the ridiculous speed limits on Airport Road down through Plaza Drive they could generate quite a bit of revenue. These speed traps are annoying.
So don’t look for support from me for more bicycle routes and I don’t appreciate people from out of town getting in my way either.

Your post is very sporadic... It doesn't even make sense to read it. One second your complaining about people riding their bikes then your complaining about speeding. Which one do you want to complain about? Sounds to me like your a disgruntled person and need to find somewhere else to go. Like the saying goes; No water in the desert what do you do... you move!

Your right I am disgruntled and I am getting tired of these people pushing their recreational use off bicycles on public roads. These back roads are not made for it. I would have no problem if the roads were widened and lined for joggers and bicyclers. Haven't you ever gotten behind a group of bicyclers that refuse to get to the side so you can pass? All the congestion in this area we don't need scenic bicycle routes. I will say again, people are not supposed to be on the roads for exercise.

So, with all those TRAILS, why are these 2 ***** encouraging the bikes out on the road? Route 419 sure as hell is no place for bicycles with all the blind spots and high speeds. I live on it in Cornwall and go elsewhere to ride my bike. I saw all the 2 wheel traffic this weekend and also a few close calls in front of my house.

I also forgot about heavy truck traffic from route 72 up to State Drive.

HAHA, yeah they should all get off of the road because people don't know how to obey laws... While you 2 are at it why don't you get motorcycles outlawed too. The roads don't need to be widened and lined, people need to use their head. It's called an accident for a reason people. It is an uncontrolled situation caused by someone being an idiot or screwing up. If you get behind a group of people riding bike beep your horn at them to let them know you are their. If they don't move out of your way use your damn common sense, wait until it's clear, and then go around the jerks (by jerks I mean the riders who do not move over). They are entitled to use that roadway the same as anybody else. It all comes down to using your head. If you don't then you deserve whatever ramification comes to you. You will learn for the next time.

But people don't use their head, including the people who are promoting riding a bicycle on a high speed road with truck traffic. I ride both bicycles and motorcycles. Having mom pop and the inexperienced kids riding next to trucks and high speed cars is the equivalent of giving a 6 year old a loaded gun. Somebody is going to get killed, and for what, mom an pop spending 3 bucks on sodas at the A+? Sure makes sense to me. It's just plain stupid, but that seems to be the rule more than the exception in Lebanon County. I have no problems with bikes on the road, but as I mentioned, I'm not stupid enough to ride on 419 either. And, if you're going to babble, don't twist MY words around to do it. There are plenty of roads around without traffic, but in their infinite wisdom, they name some of the busiest roads around as their scenic byways. You can't fix stupid, but then on the other hand, maybe Darwin was involved.

There is a difference between bicycle riders and motorcycle. Motorcycle riders generally obey the laws, they move at the same speed as cars and they buy a licence to ride on the road. Bicycle riders rarely follow the law and think they can traval at the same speed as cars. They need to stay off the road along with the joggers and the speed walkers.

But there is a difference among bicyclists. There are the weekend tourists who these promoters are trying to get in here to spend $3 at the A+, and there are those who are serious riders. The serious riders are generally considerate, it's the tourists who ride in the middle of the road and are a hazard to everybody

I noticed that too the outfits and the helmits are gay.
I have to disagree with been there. Usually the ones that dress funny with the gay helmits are the ones that are rude and don't obey the law.
