Gillian Sheridan

Does anybody know what has happened to Gillian Sheridan on channel 7 News? She just disappeared with no explanation.

Its amazing how the local TV stations in Tyler never explain to the audience when a newscaster suddenly just dissappears. I always wondered what happened to Milissa Lanear on the early morning show with Bob Brakeen on 56. She was here one day and gone the next. They never acted like anything was different. It's weird. Really, it's pretty damn rude of the stations.

I just noticed on their channel 7 website, they have taken her picture off it. WOW! Guess she fot fired suddenly. Probably back talked Joe Terrell. LOL Or Fred Flintstone ( Mark Scirto) LOL

She moved to South Carolina. Sad to see her gone.

Are you sure about that? Christine Nelson moved to North Carolina and works at WBTV in Charlotte. I think you have that wrong. Not likely they both ended up in North or South Carolina. I would just like to know why the station didnt see fit to tell all the people who have been watching her on channel 7 for years. Pretty crappy of them if you ask me.

I'm sorry i was thinking of the wrong person

I e-mailed KLTV and was sent a response from the news director. It stated that "it became necessary for Gillian and KLTV to end their 12 year relationship", that they appreciate her contributions and wish her the best "in whatever her future endeavors may be." Obviously something happened.

We emailed Joe Terrell about Gillian and this is the reponse we got! "Gillian is no longer with the station. I can’t go into details since it is a private matter, but we wish her and her family all the best in the future. Because of the privacy issue, we could not make an announcement on-air."
So that's that.

I for the most part got the same answer when I contacted them. But, several years ago when they let Brian Houston go over trouble he and Dana was having they were fast to tell me he was let go and they didn't have "privacy issue" then, so this must really be good.

Boy, would I love to know what happened since Gillian has been there forever. She and Joe Terrell and Scirto are like the three stooges, or maybe three muskateers sounds better. Anyway, her smile was getting more and more fake and forced each day for weeks now. I bet it really hit the fan, whatever it was. I'm just saying.

Stations don't realize that when newscasters come into your home daily, they almost become like family, so it really irritates me when someone like Gillian just disappears with no explanation. I so emjoyed Joe, Gillian and Mark together. Won't be the same!

I heard that Joe and Gillian had conflicts that could not be resolved. Gillian was let go and due to contract issues she is unable to work anywhere in the area for one year as a newscaster. She has hired attorneys. So sad.

Here is a picture I found on the web of Gillian and Fred Flintstone. This whole firing thing and keeping it so hush hush and "private" is looking more ridiculous all the time. I'm through with them, I'm kind of liking region 56 news better anyway.

Here is an email I just received after sending one to the station asking about Gillian.

Disgusting treatment of a person that has been faithful to the channel for so many years. I for one have switched to 56 news and believe the only way to pull these people up (Joe, Mark and company)is for every concerned person to watch another channel, as their ratings and income are the only way in which they can be made to act in a decent fashion. Privacy policy my a.. .

It is unfortunate that viewers are unable to learn the definite reason for Gillian Sheridan's departure. She was the best on-air personality and apparently took her work seriously. I must admit that I do not enjoy the program as much as I did when she was on. Hopefully in the future we can learn what happened to Gillian.

It's sad that Gillian is gone. She was an integral part of the team. Maybe someone in
management should go but that hardly ever happens.
People do have a choice in what news stations they watch and businesses have that same choice of where they spend their advertising dollars.
Not knowing the full story it is hard to judge but this is equal to the Lakers losing Kobe!
