we need a public pool in pound

We need to get together and try to get a public pool. Could be at high school or anywhere. On that land across from maggards before you get on the fourlanewould be nice. Nothing to do in this town

Hey a pool would be a great idea. It would make a few new jobs. People to watch and run the pool. It would be nice to have something in Pound.

Where the frg do you think it would fit? Theres barely room for whats already here! Stop bein a sissy and swim at the dam!

they could put it at the high school....along with a community center....

the high school will be jeff roses castle after he shakes down all the money out of pound that he can dont u know silly children

go out to the low water.Bridge in south mountain.an swim like we use to also it will be close to Harold.

A pool at the high school would be great. That would help our kids to they would have a place to go. Because I dont let my child go to the Dam. People in Pound don't care about the kids giving them a clean place to go and have fun. We need for them to have something a community center with a pool gives them a place besides the streets and the Dam young kids and teenagers don't need to be at the Dam.

Who & how exactly do you propose we pay for this pool? The town can BARELY afford simple maintenance in what "town" is left.... Pound is DYING if you guys haven't looked around you.. we might want to be thinking where & when we are going to move instead of putting in a pool that the taxpayers cant afford!!

Pound doesn't have a high school.

I community center is a fantastic idea. That's exactly what this town needs.
To those of you who have no hope for Pound and the people there of- Its fine if you neysay but seriously some of us love this town and would like to see it grow and do well for our families.

A community center with a pool or some other paying attraction would be ideal! A few new jobs and an area of safe clean fun that is easily accessible. All proceeds going back into the town and center. We have such a small safe section of southwest Virginia. Why on earth someone hasn't taken inciative and invested in Pound I'll never understand.
Wise is growing and doing ok, so is Norton. pound may never be Wise or Kingsport size maybe even not Norton size. But it could at least have more to offer the residents it does have.
I know that this generation hasn't paid much care to the town around them, but I have young children that will live in this town, and I will do all I can to encourage growth and change in both them and this town.

And perhaps a community center where we could provide free adult various educations to start teaching the adults and young parents around how to make it on their own.
I'm not being cruel- I know times are hard and their are no jobs.
So many have given up and taken to welfare and worse some abuse the system to their advantage and that strains what small group of working class is left.
But if you don't step up and help your fellow community and weed out the un-reachable then you don't really have room to complain.

how bout kids stay home. Find something to do. Read a book for heavens sake! Nobody owes them anything. They havent contributed yet. Thats why kids today have the attitude that, well they didnt have anything for us to do so we stole a car and crashed it. Im sick of that excuse, tgeres nothin to do so they get in trouble:( BS join a sport, libraries usually have summer reading orograms. Mow a yard, rake some leaves, make some money and quit stealing everything they want. Ugh! Geez, people kill me with the excuses. It is sad that all the small towns in the area have one, but not Pound. Seriously, even Appy has a pool.

i think it is people like townie that make it hard to get anything. perhaps townie needs to get a life and think about someone besides himself.
