Former area priest gets 10 years in NY sex case

Sooooo unfair. Diddling with little boys is a regular job perk.

Just think when he gets to prison. I wonder if he gets to wear a name tag..."Fr. Bender"? I'm sure he will be doing a lot of bending..and it won't be kneeling. ;)

i read this story and i find out this guy has several prior convictions and sentences for molestation and i go to pa megans law website and i can find him nowhere. is it just me or can any other parents here see a problem with that?
and to know that he has admitted to having done these acts, and basically until now, has been sentenced to probation makes me feel sick to my stomache. the system is aiding this guy to help himself to our kids and not even giving us fair warning that he lives in the neighborhood. makes me wonder how many are not listed in my neighborhood. this is obviously not a failsafe way of listing predators. is there anyone out there who could possibly shed a bit of light as to how this can happen?

I can't believe he was ever allowed to go back into a position where he was working with youths. Why in the world would a judge allow him to get off with probation back in 88'

This makes me want to puke. When I think of all the bullshit I was taught attending catholic schools for 12 years I can't believe we were that stupid to believe all of it. How much more of this crap has to come out before the weekly church goers wake up and keep their money in their pockets. All the people did for years was give money so guys like this could lead a wealthy lifestyle. So glad I lived long enough to realize this was all a bunch of crap.

About time we get a judge with some stones....oh wait, it was a female judge. Even better! Way to go Judge!

I read the list of "sex" oriented items he was carrying with him, when arrested out in LI. Now, what exactly is the 'toothpaste' used for?

Yep! That'd be about right. Whether or not they're "top-notch" lawyers remains to be seen but the Catholic Church have "special" lawyers AND pays for their services.

This is the reason I gave up on the catholic church! It has become worse than the Mafia on how they handle this kind of stuff
