In our neighborhood, Preakness Drive, we've had several houses develop these so-called pinhole leaks that WSSC disavows as their responsibility. WSSC has research posted on their website that supposedly relieves them from any connection. Yet, how do you account for these leaks when the houses are mostly less than 25 years old? These pipes are supposed to last a lot longer that this. I had to have my in-coming water supply line replaced due to a leak this past summer. WSSC wouldn't accept responsibility for any leaks after the valve at the street location.
the cost to me was in excess of $2500. GEICO insurance, my agent, said they did not cover subterranean leaks! They did provide some cover for excavation costs and with my $1k deductible, netted me $200. The agent had asked me if i really wanted the $200. Of course i wanted it! |
