I mean, I understand her being tired and all because I have 4 children and I get tired of daily activities, listening to crying, constant whining, fighting, and complaining. Having to cook, feed, and bath all of them, and on top, not get any sleep. But to leave 2 little toddlers in a bath tub, with running water, was just a bad judgement call. And by the look in her face, she looks more defiant than sorry, someone should take those children and give them a better life.

Life can be tiresome, and for a woman with small children, even more so. However, one thing must remain on the minds of any parent, male or female: THESE KIDS DIDN'T GET HERE BY THEMSELVES! They didn't mean to come and disrupt your life or lifestyle, nor did they show up @ your front door unannounced. A certain act (or a series of such) brought these lives into this world, which means that they are the responsibilty of the people who helped create them: THE PARENTS! If raising children isn't your forte, then there are things that you can do to keep from creating them. Birth Control is far too advanced a science for "accidents" to still be occurring. The fact that we don't do the things necessary to facilitate that process is OUR fault, not the child that is the result of our folly. Therefore, people MUST stop treating their offspring as a liability, and if they don't have the capacity or "time" necessary to raise them properly, give them to someone who does...or better yet, keep their pants on, legs closed, and find something more constructive to do with their time besides creating unwanted children.

Unbelievable! I'm glad that the twins are in the care of someone other than their mother! Those poor babies were probably TERRIFIED!!! It's too bad a national registry doesn't exist for people who have been convicted of child abuse & neglect...or other crimes against children/seniors that aren't sexual in nature. The registry should be setup and operated exactly like the national sex offenders registry.

Just because someone is tired, doesnt automatically mean they were on Drugs or Alcohol. On one of the news clips, a person is yelling that she has a "medical condition". I do not know her and know her situation. I am sure that these 2 concerned people did not mean for all of this to happen and were concerned for the 2 lil ones (also,on the clip, someone was yelling at a gentleman). I would have done the same thing. Yes, it was a very BAD judgement call to let put them in a bath tub..older children have drowned playing in tubs...but until you know her side, please do not judge. Granted, she had a pillow and blanket..but maybe she was just going to relax and watch some tv...not meaning to fall asleep. The last time I checked, NO ONE is perfect and we all have made mistakes. I am just grateful that this didn't lead to something tragic!

She was on the couch with a pillow and blanket. The babies were in the tub. She should have been in the bathroom with them. If she "accidentally" fell asleep, it should have been on the bathroom floor, not in another room.

Blah, Blah, Blah.....NEVER do you leave two year olds in a bath tub ALONE!!!!! No excuses for her please. Have you ever left your two year old in a tub alone? I would hope your answer would be "No, Never." Why give her an excuse then?
I was a single Mom for years and believe me I got tired, but to leave my children in a tub alone is just lazy and selfish.
Even if this woman has a medical condition that would cause her to sleep that deeply, the point is that she chose to put her children in a tub with running water and tucked her a@@ in on the couch.
Being a mother yourself, I would think you would be outraged at this also.

Who wants to take bets on how long it takes for her to get her kids back. She'll have some sob story and everyone will feel sorry for her and she will get those kids back and drag them into her sesspool of a life and they will never have a chance. She could have killed those kids if it wasn't for the good samaritans that lived below her. Those kids are alive because of them. Well done.

The last time I checked, there was none perfect. On that, we can agree. However, you don't leave kids unattended in the bathtub, no matter what your level of perfection is. That has NOTHING to do with being "perfect", but it has EVERYTHING to do with being RESPONSIBLE. She made a bad judgement call...pure and simple! Nevertheless, when dealing with the lives of innocent children, it is errors in judgement like this that can prove fatal!

It is a good thing that her neighbors aren't like so many people...those who would rather not get involved in the affair of others.

I knew this girl as an elementary school student. I was one of her teachers. She came from a kind mother and was a kind hearted girl. I'm also a mom of twins and know the absolute exhaustion any mom feels...there is never an excuse to leave the kids in a tub alone. Where was the father, grandparent, friend, sibling anyone that would help her if she was exhausted? So sad that lives were at risk. Thank god they are okay. I pray for the twins to have a safe, happy life and for Terrell to get the help she obviously needs. As far as "Baby Daddy" is concerned...a hangover is ones own fault...people make a choice to drink and how much to drink...where were you on the day in question?

I don't think the mother should be convicted as a felon. Maybe if she had repeated such forms of child neglect in prior otherwise. It seems that it was all just an accident and that it is becoming a big deal over nothing.

It's like this: if the mother gets convicted, then it would be as if a driver almost hit you while driving by and you were walking and so then you go ahead and sue the driver - and win -because you were 'almost' hit. But, in fact, you were 'not' hit; and so how does that make the driver guilty of anything? Likewise, how can the tub incident make the mother guilty of a 'felony' act? I think it should all get knocked down to a misdemeanor if there is to be any court outcome of the occurrence at all.

She must have been on drugs or had too much alcohol... bottom line you do not put your toddlers in the bathtub and go take a nap!!

Thank God for the concerned people downstairs who called for help.

Crimes against children/seniors shouldn't be treated as a "three-strikes-you're-con victed" situation!

She HAS been charged with Felony Child Abuse & Neglect. It's not a situation where the public is debating whether she should've been charged with something more serious; I can't recall any other charge that is more serious given the situation & FORTUNATE outcome than FCAN. Had one or both of the toddlers died, she would've ALSO been charged with MURDER.

However, it's important to keep in mind that it's common practice to file the most severe charges possible against someone because frequently charges are reduced or pled-down to a lessor charge.

Lastly...and MOST IMPORTANTLY...the toddlers were VERY LUCKY. None of us can say with absolute certainty that this mother has or hasn't previously put the toddlers into situations that would've resulted in charges against her. The ONLY reason we know about it is because she was CAUGHT!

I agree!

In fact, if we are to believe "Baby Daddy" and she WAS hungover, why didn't any of her friends do anything to make sure that she and the twins would be ok? Kind of along the lines where we should never let friends drive drunk...
