the store i miss most is white castle and ihop and the big mall where hecks was. but i am truly greatful thay closed the stinky old mill where u made a desent wage and replaced it with walmart :(

I didn't know they closed Wolohan Lumber, Larry Moore's, and Richards News. When did they all close? I moved away from the Portsmouth area almost 9 years ago, so I've lost track of a lot of stuff.

I can also remember eating at the K&M restaurant and then going across the street to Jeansville.

Does anyone remember when Martings first expanded to have a food counter? It was back near where all the records used to be right?

Wasn't there a shoe store down on Chillicothe that was close to the sundry store? Greens was so fun to shop at too!! They had a little bit of everything.

Portsmouth really rocked at one time. It is so sad to look at it now you know? You used to have to pay to park there!!

Did downtown Portsmouth ever have a toy store?

Jones restaurant where the CAO is now, Herrmann's meats(yummy!), and man oh man do I miss HomePlace that was in the little corner of the Kmart strip mall!
