hollywood wrote: <quoted text> you must live in the area to know so much about the people /community/ school. Yes, I bet the school does have this site blocked but your smart phone doesn't and I also bet it by your side all day! People have moved their children from this school but that doesn't fix the problem. Allowing it to be ok to take illegal drugs and then teach kids? You think just having a parent switch schools, will fix the problem? I used to live in the area. I dont have a smart phone so I didnt even think of that. Point taken on that. My point is this: If anyone thinks there is a drug problem with the staff, report it. If nothing is done then remove your child. What else can one do?

And he didn't do it on his free time, he dosed at the methadone clinic in the mornings before school started. Which is better than doing pills, but I feel the school should have known. Does anyone remember his last name? Did it start with an M? Mike...cant remember. Anyway, I agree that people could be using drugs without others knowing and this is how annual testing or random testing would solve the issue.

Jealousy - pure and simple. SEA is the greatest elementary school in Scioto County; and it may be the best in southern Ohio. There are people, because of jealousy, that have wanted SEA to fail. Well, the debate is over. High test scores, quality teachers, intelligent administration and a great school board have made it the best. If you don't like SEA, then you don't have to be involved in it. Furthermore, you should focus your ill feelings toward something that deserves them. I would like to thank Bill and Foresta Shope for managing to make SEA not only a possibility, but also a reality. Without their endless hours of hard work, Sciotoville Community Schools would not have the quality "feeder" school in SEA.

A lesson in geography: Sciotoville is part of Portsmouth. Sciotoville is not its own town. Sciotoville is within the corporation limits of Portsmouth; hence, the Portsmouth Fire Department on Harding Avenue and the Portsmouth Police cars you see around "town." A lesson in debate: Swearing usually means you can't debate and you know you have lost.

So you're insinuating that a drug problem WITHIN the same zip code doesn't affect Sciotoville? Nice try lol. I suppose you would also claim no drug dealers live in Sciotoville and none of the deaths and overdoses were Sciotoville residents? Ignorance at its best.

However, geographically, it is 7 miles from Portsmouth. Also not debated. Here is a lesson in debate for you..It is not worth my time to debate with a person such as yourself. You are dumb and an ass. Hence, dumbass.

Of course it affects Sciotoville. And Lucasville, and Wheelersburg, and New Boston, shall I go on? As usual, the topic of this thread has gotten lost in the shuffle.

Maybe overuse of drugs is to blame! There's really no other reason "the curser" would be so defensive about drug testing educators and so opposed to protecting Sciotoville's children. Sad! I hope this person isn't anyone in a position of power or influence.

I AM NOT AGAINST DRUG TESTING. As to your comment regarding swearing being a sign of my inability to access intelligent vocabulary... I can guarantee my intelligence and vocabulary far exceeds most of the posters on topix. Yourself included. I call it like it is dumbass.
