The woman could say "I am going to kill you." That would be more than enough reason to defend yourself. This doesn't seem like the case though.

Until proven otherwise, this is a case of some jackass using a knife to threaten others.

To the curb with his ass.

I agree, this person should never be allowed back. He is a disgrace to those that wear the uniform past and present.

I agree but there is a long process in the legion to expel a member. They have to go by the rules set up by the American Legion to do it. They can't just throw him out as easily as you bar someone from a bar downtown.
The criminal acts have to go through the legal system. I hope they are.
Like the person pointed out that he wasn't to be in a liquor establishment. That has to be taken through the court system too. The legion can not enforce a court order.

Why doesn't the Legion take this seriously?

There is nothing they can do until someone writes him up. They are not the police or court system.

Im not taking up for the guy. Infact, he seems like a total piece of shit. But, yes, there are many things a women could say that deserves a knife. I am a women, and I think if a women is going to "get tough" on a man, the man has every right to "get tough" back. I do agree a knife is a little extreme, but, at the same time the women could of said something that really "hit a nerve". Personally, I dont think the man should be allowed back into the legion. But, no one can officially make that decision except the board for the legion...which is a longer process then what most people on here are thinking. Some people are trash talking Dave. He may be the Club Manager, but hes not the Boss. He cannot bar people out for life. So basically, my post was to defend Dave, not that Steve guy.

Post 23 American Legion supports members who break the law.
They think they are above the law because they are a private organization.
The State Law of Ohio banned smoking inside public buildings.Private organizations are not exempt. This is a state law.
Post 23 lets members pay $1.00 to smoke. That is against the law.
Go in there on a Friday night and you will not be able to breathe for the smoke.
This legion post is not for the veterans, they are for themselves. Law breakers who need to be shut down. I am sure this will happen soon.

Get a life you have to dig this up from 2weeks ago? Can't start you own thread, Jack Wagon?

So you are a law breaker not reporting that to the proper authorities but posting on a forum that goes no where, Jack Wagon.

Obviously he knows no more about the smoking ban and how it is enforced than he does how the American Legion works.
He sounds like a nut case, know it all that knows nothing. I have some friends that are members of this post I'm going to have to find out more about him. TFF

I know that Lawson is an ex-convict. Served time for murder.
He is not a legion member so how did he get in???
I do not know Craigmiles.
Sounds like the American Legion Post 23 needs to allow members only.
Has there been a lawsuit filed or any arrests?
Tate may head back to prison.I do not think he is supposed to be in bars.

I read on Moe about someone getting their jaw jacked up.
The rules of the Legion, and the Attorney General's Office will tell you, are Members and Guests, so maybe someone brought the guy in if he isn't a member. The member is responsible for the guest they bring in, so it might fall back on them.

You don't know what your talking about. Tate served time for involuntary manslaughter and he is not on parole or probation, therefore he is free to go wherever he desires.

Do you think he will serve time now for "involuntary breaking a jaw?"
Sounds like he has issues. He is too old to go around in bars fighting. At least he knows which bar he can go into and not get hurt.

Involuntary? How is picking up a ketchup bottle and hitting someone in the head with it involuntary?
Probably was an involuntary punch to Craigmiles jaw too.
His nickname is heinz.
