If anyone has worked at Scioto Residental Services has been discriminated against in the work place in the past two years lets hear your comments (Please no names)? Are you a victim , and name somethings that has caused you to resign from active employment discrimination? Name a lawyer that would be interest in recovering lost wages for these former employees?

They do have a problem with discrimination against employees and just in the general way they treat them. They have the highest turn over rate around, which is sad for the clients. The problem is with the management. They are never available when assistance or training is needed but then it is the staff's fault when something goes wrong. A lawsuit most definitely needs to be filed.

They don't want anything reported to proper authorities (Sheriff, Police, Health Dept. etc.) They want to handle everything "in house". That includes client abuse, theft of client property, sanitation violations etc. This is a big money maker for a chosen few, notice they are a "Not for Profit" instead of a "Non-Profit" that way they can pay some people big salaries, also they are a "Private Corporation" so their records are not public record.

their in house handling is so that they can protect their chosen few in the office/management. they write their rules and policies (not black and white but grey) so that they only affect the ones they want them to. they are crooks and have already been turned into the bbb for their actions. Discrimination runs rampant there and has caused hardships for alot of good people with good families. There are alot of unhappy people with the company and things have been reported to the proper channels for investigation.

Good luck finding a lawyer around here. I worked there and lost my job for pregnant. They actually sent me the letter stating after I have my baby reapply for employment. The lawyers around here would not take it cause many have done business with them.

That makes no sense. Your English is so poor I am sure that was you third baby by a third man, right? I worked there too pregnant and they never brought it up. Actually MANY women worked there before, during, and after their pregnancy. If you was let go, I am sure it was because of poor work performance. I think people who instantly attempt law suits are people too lazy to work and what to get rich quick, just saying.

One of the main problems with SRS is you get a bunch of chiefs and no Indians. I am saying this as a former DSP. I would work along side of people who felt that they were 'above' others because of their age, how long they been there, who they were friends with, or how big their mouth was. When you are working along with this type of worker it sucks! They would sit all night and 'do paperwork' or volunteer to run the errands while you was stuck doing 100% of the manual labor. I never had a problem with management, only with the few employees who were complete rotten apples.

Jeez you should not call people names on here. It was my first baby and so far only kid. But thanks for being a world class jerk because I just lost another set of twins. I have diabetes along with a background of Cervical Cancer which stated I would be a high risk and could not be in a home by myself. They moved me from my home of 5 yrs. Where by the way in 5 yrs of employment only had on reprimend. And I am still in contact with all my fellow workers and have been told by mananagment I can have my job back. But to be honest. My child is more important than a job. I worked double shifts while there so coworkers could go be with kids and family. I worked holidays so they could spend time with their kids. At that time I had none. But since you are so well known there why don't you ask around the older ones can tell you who I am and yes you will get mixed reviews because you can't please everyone and because I spoke my mind and spoke up for the residents. Which by the way the residents still run up to me in Walmart and hug me and my daughter. And most of the new staff have met me at one time or other. And for your info I don't get welfare I do work now 50 plus hours a week in EMS and my hubby is a truck driver of 20 yrs. And I have been with my company for over 2. So really and truly. I don't think I need to be judged or bad mouthed and as far as my English. That was never my calling it has always been medical. But Thanks for being a complete grade a jerk and making me bring up the 3 miscarriages I just went thru in less than a year. A set of twin in Feb. and a single back in May. So I hope while your sitting on your stool looking down your nose at me you got the satisfication of knowing your better than me.

Oh and by the way if my 7 yr old wants to know why mommy is upset tonight I will let her know I was thinking of her twin siblings that she had to experience the pain of losing along with us. So I hope you and your judgemental attitude have a great day. Remember the person that you are judging is facing a battle of their own and you have no clue what it is or could be. So thanks for ruining my night and reminding me of how judgemental small minded people could be.

No one made you bring that up. I am just annoyed everyone always wants to sue. How are you going to say I want to sue them for unfair treatment in one minute and then say they were kind, they offered me a job, etc.
I am simply saying that SRS is like most jobs. People quit, get fired, or whatever and think they can sue.
I worked there for 4 years and never got in trouble unless it was my own fault. It is kinda gross people saying they are profiting from their clients when SRS has provided safety, structure, and love to people who went YEARS suffering abuse at other institutions.
I am just heated because I LOVED my time there. I met clients who showed me how to be a better human and mother. All this public bashing about SRS is only hurting the clients.

I agree I love the clients and still do. I transport alot of them thru my work now. And as far as it goes I did go thru with putting a lawsuit on them. I had an outstanding record. Always available when needed. And only spoke up for the residents. Especially the ones that had no family. but they have a gray area that someone mentioned above. What suits them is how it goes. Would you move a diabetic DSP out to home in the middle of no where with no other staff person. Especially when this staff person is at a home with 4 and no lifting but lifting at the other?? Oh and the same day the put me on a leave of absence they moved 2 DSP's out there?? So yes they did offer me my job back and as yes some upper management was great. But its like all companies around here. There is a gray area. Not just SRS but all. But you attacked me and put me down for making a statement that is true. I didn't put a lawsuit on for money but for my job back. But no job is worth my child. And that is what I told the lawyer. You basically come on here stereo typing me for no reason but for having an opinion. But don't judge someone tell you know the full story. And really and truly God should be our only judge. Not mad at any one. But before poking at a person try to understand what that persons hell is.

I use to work at srs and let me tell you it was a job full of backstabbing and lies. I loved the clients, but I could not handle the way the office personals treated them. They act like they cared for them, but in reality they was thinking dollar signs. The office personals really do not care, sad but true. It just gets to me how the people in the office would have food brought in and everyone including the nurses {which by the way are heavyset} would be feeding their faces at our meetings but yet the clients can not go out to eat and can only shop at save-a-lot because the people in the office wants their christmas bonus. Do not work for this company unless you want to give up your life because they will work you to death. Believe me as I speak.

By the way, if a client gets a lot of money every month then the support managers and the people in charge has to hurry up and spend the money left over before the following month. The reason is, because they can only have so much money left over before the end of the month or it messes up their sscheck and therefore srs will not make money. It is a scandel, thats all I got to say.

Is it possible that you were fired because you couldn't perform all the tasks that needed to be done at your job? If you had a high risk pregnancy, there were probably many things you couldn't/should't do. I don't know if that is the case and I am in NO WAY taking up for SRS. I'm also not trying to be rude to you in any way. I'm not sure if they could have gotten in trouble if they let you perform certain tasks that could have put you or your baby at risk in your situation. It just seems that since you said they were going to let you come back after giving birth, that may be the logical reason. Some places allow a lot of time off for medical reasons, but some only allow very little before they terminate and replace you. I'm not sure of the full content of the Family and Medical Leave Act. It's just a thought.
I had a high risk pregnany. My employers were very cautious in what they permitted me to do. My family doctor even refused to treat me in any way just to be cautious. Only my gynecologist treated me for ANY type of medical problems during my pregnancy. I'm really sorry for your losses, by the way. I can't imagine.

Man I heard that srs is nothing but scandel. I know alot of people that had work their and the stories of how the people in charge treat the clients is unreal. I wish the state would do an investigation. Lets just pray for the clients.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Pisces

Having to bow down to convention or limitations is enough to make you want to scream right now, and you'll do your utmost to rebel in any way you can. Be careful about this because you could easily get on the wrong side of someone who has power or authority over you. It feels as though you're battling with forces that want to keep you under control, and you don't like it one bit.
