The principal whipped a child at school so hard that the DFS was called because of the bruising left on the child and the other child that was involved received nothing. this is not right and the principal needs to be fired. I am a nurse at the hayti hospital and saw the bruising. It was very sad. Something needs to be done.

I bet the kid won't do whatever they did again! I am sure principal might have hit harder than he/she planned but I am still all for schools whipping and my kid is in school but doesn't get whipped at school because I discipline him so he acts correctly in public places!!!!!

People in Portageville don't care if a student gets a BEATING at school. If it's not thier child they don't care. It will never change.

Excuse me but if you're a nurse and the child was brought into the ER and the brusing came into question and the doc was informed about the paddling, then it's the hospital's duty to inform the proper authorities. If you're saying they didn't then it falls to you to inform the proper authorites of not only the bruising, but the hospital's inaction. And you ARE violating HIPPA.

So many people worried about the hippa law but not that a student took a beating. I thought child abuse was against the law. Looks like the person who broke the hippa law will get away wth it. Let's don't forget the person who gave the beating he will get away with it too.

That's the difference in these times and these parents. If I got a paddling at school I could usually expect another when I got home.

if a child went to school with bruises due to a whipping at home the school would push it to the limit to get the parents in trouble, so i say the parents should push it too. if it was my child i would definitely press charges. if it is portageville, they have gotten away with it before.

And my kids too, unless it was for self-defense, then we told them to take up for themselves and take the whippin' rather than allow themselves to be bullied.

The principal is probably sick and tired of some little criminal causing trouble in school, and is doing something about it.
