I think it is a crying shame that one man and one woman forced the city board to agree to the cruising zone. Why not everyone throw a fit and get their street zoned No Cruising. What will all our kids do then. Come on council were you never young??? I thought you were stronger than that. Don't you have kids????? You need to rethink this.

When gas went up to about 70 cents in 1973 or so, I came home one night, and the next morning, my dad checked the odometer, and I had driven almost 100 miles just cruising the park, Macarthur, down 61 to Big John's, then repeating....he almost had a coronary after almost killing me....

remember the summer nights 30 yrs ago? we would have truck pulls at t-roys, cruise and just hang out. i remember making the turn at big johns and smoking the tires past the iga :)) the cops wouldnt even chase me, they would just call my dad to bring me in :))i loved to pesster the cops back then. sure would be nice if the officials would lighten up on a little fun. 4th of july riding around shooting fireworks at your friends. one night my cuzin and i were doing just that and a cop turned a few streets in front of us and i had just lit a pack of fire crackers and had to throw them in his glove box, when we past the cop smoke was rolling out of the car and we are trying to act cool :)) joe moore sitting at the stop light waving at everybody..i had a great time in pville. I feel sorry for the kids that will never know how much fun pville was 30yrs ago. maybe they can have a bicycle ride night and the kids can ring their bells at each other :)) and throw marshmellows ...but make sure they have helments and pads and eyeprotection you wouldnt want to put somebodys eye out with a jiffy puff:))

That sorry @ss Nita! Called me in so MANY times the cops have my cell phone number! When she'd call me in, they'd call me and ask where I was! 95% of the time I was at my house! Crazy 'ol bat...I paid good money for the pipes on my truck, I think I should be able to ride where ever and whenever I want! Wonder if she called BNSF and told them not to send the trains through after 8pm? I can't wait til harvest season and all the cotton seed at the gin starts rotten! AHAHAHAHA....bet her bed-n-breakfast prices will drop! Maybe she'll rent me a room????

People need to be looking at the lady on first street herself. This woman is having all this work done on her house by contractors that cannot be paying taxes because she has got one man working on her house that is not paying taxes or even saying he is working because I know he owes some child support for a couple of kids if not three or four. I think this lady needs to be cleaning her own backyard instead of worrying about others. No wonder she lost her job if she encourages people not to pay taxes or child support what kind of economic growth is that?

Another concerned parent wrote: I noticed that in the newer housing areas of new madrid that they have posted noise ordinance signs too. if must be becoming a problem for other towns to post the same type things. I can see where the noise would be a problem- it's probably the earth-shaking systems they have installed to play their music making some of the noise too. Alot of people live on the far end of Maine Street. Don't blame them on that one.:)

I don't know what happened to that ordinance but the people (Nita) moved away and nobody lives there now. I live on first street and have for 36 years. The kids are only doing what I did as a kid and if that ordinance is still in effect as far as I am concerned the kids can drive by here all they want and play their music. It doesn't bother me or anyone else on this street.

The reason there is a law is the same as most laws. There are always afew dumbasses that have to ruin it for everyone. Those dam echo cans on these trucks, and the booming from the stereos. EVERYONE is entitled to a little peace and quiet, we are all sick to death of the idiots that ruin it.

was going on 25 years ago. Glass Packs and Pioneer Super Tuner 3's with Jensen Triaxiels or Pioneer speakers with a 200 watt amplifier could blow windows out. The ordinance is bull shit and I'm 42 years old and like my peace and quiet. Your kids will leave and never come back and you are probably the same person who bitches about the town drying up. The town is it's people. The people make up the town. YOU are the dumbass idiot. You obviously are the shit head that never had any fun while growing up.

Cruising ordinance is up here parts of st louis city. I have a sport bike, if the cops want to waste their gas money and efforts trying to keep me from driving on the street, so be it, hope they can catch up, i top out at 190 mph.
