Here's my prediction. We lose a close vote in Maine (marriage equality is vetoed) but we win in Washington (ref 71 passes). The Kalamozoo is a local issue not on the same scale.

My other predictions for the remainder of '09 are-

-marriage equality passes in D.C.
-in a lame duck session New Jersy passes marriage equality
-Congress finally passes and the President signs the Hate Crimes bill

Overall not a bad year in the fight for equality.

We lose some, we win some. At the end, we will prevail. (as in equality)

I am not sure about Ref 71 here in Washington. The last poll I saw things were still not clear as to what the outcome will be.

My wife and I are DP'ed here in Washington, so obviously I am very concerned about Ref 71 being approved. The way the thing is worded on the ballot is confusing a lot of people.

APPROVE REF 71!!

I hate to say it and I'm pessimistic about the chances of TBGL rights being advanced significantly in this election, based mainly on past results. That said, events may conspire to surprise me (and many others). Let's hope that comes true.

NEVERTHELESS WE ALL STILL NEED TO GET OUT AND VOTE!!!
