Did the neighbors have beautifully manicured lawn, two SUVs in the driveway, and a boat?

No, silly, they had half-a-dozen empty six-packs scattered in their driveway, a rusted pick up truck parked on what could-have-been a well manicured lawn, an abused dog chained to a tree and CW music blaring through the bathroom window. Get real.

I think the neighbors that those kids went to for help and were turned away instead of let inside while the neighbor called for help should be charged with accessories to murder/manslaughter. They turned these kids away because of their ages and the fact that they were disruptive in the neighborhood. Which can be traced directly back to the parent. Social services had been called numerous times and everyone just turns a blind eye. How can they sleep at night???

They have to live with the fact that they could have helped these kids, but didn't. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes!

It would be hard to live with 'that one' over one's head. But then again, I try not to get too involved with domestics. But I believe I would of tried something here. Sad day we live in. Isn't there anymore GOOD SAMARITANS out there? I certainly hope so. ' BOWEANIE dh

What are the addresses? I think they all need to be charged as accessories to capital murder.

if the neighbors are confused as to who shot whom, can you blame them for not allowing the children in...... not like these children are toddlers.... cut some slack here .... understand their [neighbors] side of the fence , the children were out of the house so they didn't have to go home to get shot ??? sad but .... they did call 911 didn't they

The caller said she was confused about who was doing the shooting when on Tuesday A Brevard County Sheriff's spokesman told The Associated Press that three of the children went to a neighbor's house early Tuesday morning to say their mother had shot them. But according to the 911 call, the female neighbor said she heard one child say the youngest child shot their mother. Later, she said the children told her husband that their mother was shooting at them. Amid the confusion, the caller warned the children not to enter her home.

I agree Tally, one would have to stop and think about the confusion that would have to have been going on at the moment. Those kids were probably all yelling at the same time and the neighbors were probably trying to ascertain who shot who and in the spur of the moment felt it best to just call 911 and let the authorities sort it all out. When push comes to shove you can't help anyone if you yourself are not safe, I think they done the correct thing, they kept themselves safe so they could get help on the way. I also think the ones who did the wrong thing were the children, if they knew their mother was shooting they should have never reentered the home where she was located. That really boggles my mind that they would do that especially when they were aware that the neighbors were calling for help. They should have stayed there on the porch of the neighbors who were trying to get them some assistance or gone even further down the street away from their home until the police came.

They should have stayed there on the porch of the neighbors who were trying to get them some assistance or gone even further down the street away from their home until the police came. So they deserved to be murdered because they "done the wrong thing?" I guess if a woman is jogging in a park and gets assaulted or killed, she was "doing the wrong thing?" As for why the children went back, I guess they honestly believed the youngest had shot the mother, so, they assumed she was safe to come back to. Despite the apologetics for the neighbor in this thread, I'd still like to see karmic payback. That might even go in my next novel.
