Taco Bell?

Any hear that we have a TB coming?

That rumor's been flying around for at least the last 5 years. Somebody I know looked into opening a franchise here and at the time it required a million dollar investment and Taco Bell was very skeptical that this area had the population to support it.

There's plenty of Mexicans around here to support a Taco bell. I don't know who will staff it though....

The Taco Bell in Selingsgrove is run by Mexicans,is a little srange because when they are not waiting on you they speak Spanish.

There is a Taco Bell going in in Chambersburg and it is listed under Lewistown jobs.Maybe this is where the rumor started.

They look at population density, not racism.

It is being looked at. I have an inside source in the Yum Brands Company which owns KFC, Taco, Long Johns.

Seriously, do you folks think the reasoning to a Taco Bell opening here depends on how many Mexicans there are in the area? Please tell me you were joking with this comment.

Probably if that was the case they would put it in Mifflintown not here.

I think if Lewistown was going to get a Taco Bell we would have had it by now,these rumors are a couple of years old.

Except for the undiscriminating, real Mexicans avoid Taco Bell like the plague. They know the food is a joke. It's a culinary, and gastronomical nightmare. It would be like serving Velveeta to a Frenchman.
That said, Taco Bell would not be very successful in Mifflin County, with or without all the Mexicans. The people here are just too set in their ways to support a Mexican restaurant, even a fake one like Taco Bell.

I agree, very disappointing. I for one LOVE Taco Bell. I'm not a fast food fan, but I would become one real quick if we had a Taco Bell here. I'd even learn to speak Spanish if need be haha!

My grandson loves Taco Bell and everytime we go to State College we at the one over there. I like their food also and I am not a real fast food lover.

I have an inside scoop as a friend works for one of the Yum brands, he manages a shop. He said it is being looked into and that he is being considered to run the Bell if they do in fact go with it here.
