It looks like Vallejo Fire is either still in denial or this is the only leverage the unions have remaining for negotiations. IAFF 1186 and IBEW reserve the right to further appeal a lost cause? This makes twice that the unions have increased city cost for bankruptcy protection. Will they do it a third time? In fairness, these two unions should be held accountable for all court costs following the initial decision when the Judge ruled that they had no case. Maybe the additional court costs should be taken into account during the next round of negotiations.

Well, there COULD BE another view that the city started this fight and should have been "smart" enough to see the potential for high legal costs should the unions RIGHT TO APPEAL be exercised.
I doubt the city would not have exercised this right as well, especially if the majority were shifted the other way.

And they wonder why there is less money in the general fund. If they really cared about revenues they would stop this nonsense.

the only revenue the unions care about is the one that goes in their bank accounts. Lets drag this on into another court or two. Yeah, that's the ticket, lets waste as much money as possible before we lay off enough of you to be able to pay the remaining few. What a bunch of dopes.

Rumor has it that now that Binding Arbitration won't be on the the Nov ballot, the Unions plan to use Binding Arbitration to fight their contracts being voided.

I guess the Incompetent 5 are still in bed with the PSU and really don't give a damn about the taxpayers.

They already tried that, and as long as the City is still in BK they have to bring their beef before Judge McManus first.

The union locals are not funding this battle, it's the international union that is footing the bills now. The international will spend millions to punish the city leaders for trying to use bankruptcy as a union busting tool and at the same they will deter other city leaders accross the state from doing a Vallejo.

The city should sue the unions for the frivilous legal costs.

Vallejo citizens reserve the right to view the unions with contempt. When will these buffoons get over themselves and get with reality? My guess is never.

For every dollars going into the lawyers -- I suggest - the city to take that out of the subsequent contracts with these idiotic unions.
When you have a small part of the population putting a gun in the head of the distressed group of citizens with their unreasonable demands and scare tactics -- I say -- screw them.

Al, last time I checked, the city not the union lowered your wages and beniefits and they also started this battle by filing for bankruptcy. If you were smart you would start looking for another job because things will only get worse in this city.

Gee, now I'm all frightened and everything. I sure hope the boogey man don't get me.

Enough with the scare tactics already. Go get one of those high paying jobs with Oakland or
San Francisco (where even the mayor, DA and board of stupes don't like the police.) Just leave us to our miserable little city. anybody up for the mexican circus???

How did the union "already try that"? If the contracts are set aside, the city will have to reenter negotiations with the labor groups. If they are unable to come to an agreement, they will go to arbitration, not back to Judge McManus.

Yet another reason not to approve the continuance of the UUT. If that initiative passes, it will go directly to the bully unions and not provide any services that we already pay for and don't receive. Not one red cent more!

You do NOT have a right to NOT pay the other sides legal fees after you lose in the trial court. So they can appeal all they want, but they can be held liable for BOTH sides attorney fees.

Once you lose you must pay a bond to cover any costs you may be held liable for in the court of appeals.

Out that in your GED firewhiner bong and smoke it.

The BK court has the power to void BA, now and in the future, and BA would never be allowed by the BK judge while the case is still in litigation.

Put that one to rest.

Well, if that was the national plan it backfired on them.
