i think this guy tried to kick my ass in highschool. That's great that he's going to get everything he dished out in highschool, except from hardened criminal sociopaths.
Is his term to be served in medium security or less (club Fed?) due to its slightly acceptable nature in the governments eyes?

Let me begin by saying that I went to MHS with Dan Culhane and he is a tool, was then, assuming still. If he orchestrated anything that acquired him millions then hats off. Who would ever listen to him; he is an imbecile -- really.
My second comment would have to be to the writer of this article. This article is woefully written, based on made up fluffy non-existent terms like "Hockey Star." Really? You really want to use descriptors such as "star" to describe any sport backed by MHS... The article doesn't even explain what he was using this money for? Drugs, loan sharks, fancy cars? Blood diamonds?? There has to be a reason. Ms. Baker couldn't find anyone in Larchmont that knew anything? Really? More likely, she could have but that interfered with the idea of non-reporting and lunch at the yacht club. In short, she is not a reported and this is not a "real" newspaper and anyone that would buy into a Dan Culhane scam deserves to be in prison too. Come on, rich, white Larchmont... not all white people are truthful, and didn't your mother teach you anything about people who promise windfalls.... um, they are always lying.
Oh, and I'll leave you with nugget of Culhane brilliance... taking directly from his HS yearbook, just cause I can:

I just spent four days on the same cell block(3SW)with Dan Culhane. He had no reason to lie to me, although he may have. As far as I can see in the next few months the individual that used Dan's name will fall. Dans mistake was greed and and not checking up on the guy and what he was really doing. But this guys brother trusted him and Dan trusted his brother. I just want to point how poorly the reporters are doing their job. My issue was covered by the same paper and all I can say is that it was laughable. I dont know why they expect people to talk to the reporters, jeopardize their case. Funny they never say we just dont really have enough information to print anything worth reading. When I read from other posters that Dan should get 10 years it amazes me how callous they can be. Have you ever spent time in jail or prison. Its absolutely ridiculous, its dehumanizing, it hurts. Crime is not an event. It occurs within the framework of a whole life of processes. Im not defending anyone. I just cant believe how many people can so easily judge the life of another without having an intimate understanding of their lives. Its really none of our business. If the victims werent so filled with this american form of greed they wouldnt have gotten taken. Who gives someone a hundred thousand dollars? I just dont get that. Who jeopardizes their familys' home on a high risk venture? Thats just amazing to me.
Dan is a good person. He may have fucked up but Im completely convinced there is someone else that led the scam. We should pray for everyone in jail, these are mostly really good people that have been through alot, especially these guys growing up in the ridiculous "out for self" world. Godspeed.

Daniel Culhane is a fat con man and his brother is no better off. Not to mention, his con man fiend Glen. These guys took their skills and used them to scam famlies who live in the upper east side, which have not come foward to press charges against these guys. Believe me, thousands are owed to to these folks too. Well it is a good thing Dan is off Third Ave and we don't have to worry about him for a while.

Believe me, Dan is a lair and a complete con man. He knew exaclty what he was doing at all times. He used everyone he came in contact with even poor folks in New Orleans, La. This man is the Devil with a fat body and a smile, period.

Is this steven patrick? If it its just reply "Yes its me the dusch bag". By the way he used his ex wife Liz Dee to launder the money through her job with Goldman Sachs. She should be in jail with him. A regular bonnie and clyde or in this case an ugly beotch and a fat guy who dont shower.

It amazes me how quick you people are to judge. While what he did was horrible and wrong you are all acting like you're perfect. Half of these posts are ridden in spelling errors and profanities and they sound extremely uneducated. It it disgusting. Even more disgusting is the atrocious things that you are wishing on this man. Did you ever stop to think of his family and how they must be suffering? The repercussions of his actions not only fall on Dan but all of those people who loved him and wanted to see him succeed.

And "Hope Dan is being raped" You are a vile, bitter human being for wishing that on anyone.

Good for Dan if he got over on people. Anyone that is stupid enough to give away large sums of their life savings without proper paperwork deserves it. Get real people, money doesn't grow on trees and no one triples their money for doing nothing. Get off your lazy ass and work. The Goldman Sachs comment is laughable...GS could give a shit about a couple hundred grand...they don't even accept customers worth less than 10 million. I guess if the people writing this shit were smart enough to know that then they would not be on this site. Don't believe in a fantasy world made up by a bunch of sports guy. I wish I could feel bad for those that lost money but that's life. Eat what you kill.

My guess is Dan will be fine in jail. He has a good heart and he will make friends. Friends that I am sure he will keep on the outside. Be careful to judge someone that you don't really know. Writing negative shit about people will come back to haunt you. One never knows who's lerking outside your place. I know I don't want an ex con as my enemy...maybe that just makes me smart.

Dear Victim....I'm sorry if you are bitter because you fell for this hairbrained scheme. I'm not quite sure how I am the hypocrite by stating that people shouldn't be so quick to judge but clearly you are dealing with some anger issues. I hope, for your sake, that things work out and that you don't remain angry for the rest of your life. It's way too short.

I am sorry for the people who feel bad for Dan. Lets not forget he used to his dead mothers memory to profit from. And his family, his brother is an alcoholic coke head who cant hold a job and will one day be behind bars with his brother. If his family was that concerned then why did they not question Dan and where his money was comming from. Dans aunt is Noreen Culhane who just happens to be the vice president of the New York stock exchange. He could not ask her for a loan without ripping off good people. Dan should be ashamed of himself for what he did but his family should be evenmore so due to the fact that they never questioned dans life style of gambling thousands, expensive dinners, hampton houses where his family visited and none of them ever asked where the money came from. It sounds like they were too busy with there own lives to realize they had a sociopath in there family. He ruined his life, his families life, and many others. His ex wife went into a marriage thinking this scheme was real. What about her life. That time is gone and never comming back. And you want us to feel bad for Dan and his family. Please. And to the family, more charges are comming soon from the city of New York and I hope it adds another 25 years of time to poor Dans sentence. Good Day wackos.

Dan bought a 10,000 table at Derick Jeters turn two foundation dinner and invited his whole family so they would think he was working not living off good hard working people like he was. He made up a company and make himself the president. LOL. And his family bought it. Can you belive that!!!! No wonder they never stopped him they could care less. Its very sad if you think about it. Dans family only now cares about him, where were you people during all the years of him living off stolen money? He had not worked since he was married, ESPN yeah ok, he was doing hockey games at 5 am in Alaska. If you know him and you think about all his stories they all make sence. He asked a friend of mine for 20,000 and he told him "suck my *!ck" Dan's response. " I would for 50,000". Classic. Now he is doing it for free I hope. Attica Attica
