How do you make a guitarist play quieter?
Put sheet music in front of him..... How do you make him stop?
Put notes on it.

Gotta give dues to Don & Darrell Nelson. In the day, they weren't accepted very warmly out of town, sometimes, until people ACTUALLY heard them play. Then??? They blew people away. Cousin, Raymond played w/ them also.
Music bonds people, like nothing else can.

John Sousan is running sound for a nickle and dime show and Branson 3 days a week. Last I heard they were drawing about 10-15 audience members per show.

Maybe he should try taking pictures like his brother Tony. Truthfully, he never was a very good musician anyway, much better than I could ever be, but still.

I played rhythm guitar with the Modds, Steve Ellis was the drummer. Steve Simone and brother Eddie went back to L.A. where Steve did some work @ Crown Cadet records \.(MCarthur Park) Grunion wrote: What bands played at The What Club? Does anybody remember that place? It was on the East Side, just barely east of the housing project on old Hwy 60. The Modds played there. The lead guitar player was a guy named Steve Simone. He had a brother named Eddie. Who else was in The Modds? They made a 45 that wasn't bad. I remember when The Red Coats (From Fisk) came to play at The What Club. I think that a very young Marshall Shain might have been the leader of that band. They knew a couple songs, namely, "Hanky Panky" and "Louie, Louie." That's two more songs than I knew how to play at that time! J Ray Wills had a 45, too.

Fans like me of 60s teen combos dig the crazy flipside "Leave My House". I've been trying to find out anything regarding the Modds for nearly 25 years! The one combo I could not trace except for a publishing credit in Springfield, MO. Great to know where they were from before my teenbeat combo garage band book book gets published soon! Any pix? I can give you any info you need about the Modds. I played rhythm guitar and lead vocal on all the time in the world. It was done in 1965-66. I have some pictures and I believe I stll have some of the top ten charts from klid when we were on them. you can contact me @ johngeorge7881@sbcglobal.net
